It was inclear on checkout if my credit card had yet been charged for the room.

There is a sign in downtown Staggia Sense that is wrong. It point to the hotel in the opposite direction. Even with what I thought were very good maps we still had trouble finding the hotel. Clearer or text directions to the hotel would be helpful.

Good food during our stay. Due to its location outside of town the half board turned out to be a very good buy.

My business in the UK is to book Hotels for clients, I have do site visits so I am very critical and would like to say that on a personal and professional note that the Hotel staff were very friendly and professional, I found the Hotel to be a jewel amoungst the hills of Tuscany! I liked it so much I booked in for an extra 3 nights. It made my holiday.

The most picturesque Villa/Hotel that I saw on my travels, majestically situated overlooking the hills of Tuscany. To sit on the terrace and watch the full moon rise over the such a beautiful view was a bit of heaven right here on earth! The staff were brilliant as was the food. I will not only go back in a heartbeat but I want to get enough money so that I can buy the property!

Michelin maps are useless. Just follow the directions on the web site and watch for road signs. Of course, you can't miss the hotel -- you can see it on top of the hill from several miles away.

Hotel Villa Lecchi was a wonderful small hotel, ideally situated for touring Tuscany, with a delightful staff and a good kitchen. The regional cuisine was delightful and well prepared. Breakfast was wonderful -- not the usual scant toast and coffee you find in many places in Italy. The staff were more than friendly.

There cannot be a better view of Tuscany anywhere. The hotel sits on the crest of a hill, about 300 feet above the surrounding valleys. And there are delightful little roads from the hotel, leading you to small farms and down to several little streams. A lovely setting.
My wife and I are from the San Francisco area, one of the great restaurant cities of the world. But the veal at Villa Lecchi has a simple truffle sauce with a hint of goose liver pate -- as good a dish as you could find anywhere.

There is almost too much to do and see in Tuscany. You need a comfortable place to stay, somewhere to relax after a day of sightseeing. Hotel Villa Lecchi is such a place. It's centrally located, but sits high above the noise of the towns. You will look forward to coming home to this place. You will want to sit on the balcony and drink Chianti before dinner. You will look forward to trying virtually everything on the menu -- which is remarkably affordable. This is just a very pretty small hotel, in a very pretty location, with a staff of friendly people trying hard to make you happy. Given the relatively low cost of the hotel, you may be surprised by the parking lot filled with BMW's and Maserati's. This is a very good hotel for the price.

A family owned hotel, very friendly and helpful, very good cuisine, a central point to explore the famous tuscany spots. The villa itself is a lovely location as you usually see only on postcards, here it is true. Rooms very comfortable with aircondition (minor technical problems were fixed immediatly)

Comparing price and quality there is a very
good relation. The place is typical for the region, not too luxury but good for couples without children. People expecting animation or entertainment should not go there. Evenings are quite and withour special events.

The directions given to the hotel were confusing because the road to the hotel from the village was closed due to restoratio of a castle in Staggia.

Villa Lecchi is very laid back and friendly. It is a family run hotel and the family members are very friendly and helpful. There is a slightly neglected feel about the hotel but if you can ignore this it is a very comfortable place to stay.

A wonderful hotel with spectacular views across Tuscan hills.
The restaurant menu was limited as it was very meat based (no fish) and on the second occassion there was no al la carte option so we had to have the fixed menu.

It was our first experience driving in Italy, and the signage to find Villa Lecchi was difficult to follow. It was at night, and we exited Staggia Senese, but from then on, we had a very difficult time finding Villa Lecchi. We turned around 2 or 3 times, asked people who didn't know where it was and were frustrated. But once we finally found it, we were pleased.

The only other frustration was after it took so long to find the villa, that the restaurant at the villa, when we arrived on Saturday night at 8:30, was all booked up and we couldn't get in. We didn't know we needed reservations at a villa's restaurant. So we were exasperated when we had to travel about 15 minutes to a pizzeria down the road for dinner.

we would absolutely stay there again, but would advise you to tell people if they want to eat at the restaurant the day of arrival, to book in advance, like when you confirm their reservation.

It was easy to search a variety of B&Bs and hotels.

However, it was unclear that Villa Lechi was an old hotel and not a B&B or agritourismo, the 2 types of accomodation we were looking for.

We got a room that was awfully hot so we moved to a smaller but less expensive room on the ground floor.

We were let down because the pictures made the Villa Lechi look more modern and clean than we found it to be. The first room we were assigned to had no comforter and we were told it was coming, just in the wash at the time. The rooms need updated furniture and decorations.

The aircondition wasn't strong/cold enough.
there was no real restaurant: dinner only one menue/no choice with reservation in advance in the morning.

there should have been a real receipt with details of side costs (meals/drinks).
Better information about payment (credit cards not welcome).
We did not get a receipt at all.

The directions given could not be used as a bridge had been taken down on the road and it was unpassable.
The hotel was fine but in the 38 degree heat we were disappointed to find out that the air conditionining was turned off between 7am and 3pm every day.

We had to pay 10% more because we paid with Visa. On the web site it said we could pay by credit card but nobody mentioned about the additional 10 %. The hotel owner told us she made a price for cash payment, but we were not awere of this. I would have appriciated it if sombody told us this so I could have had the richt amount of cash on me.

There is a restaurant in the hotel, but you have to choose your mails in the morning after breakfast, so they can get their goods to make it.
