Due to late trains, we arrived after the check in period. However, someone stayed late to make sure we were able to check in. They were very pleasant and helpful, even with the very late arrival. ... This was truly the most wonderful place we stayed in, while in Italy. The staff was extrememy nice and accomidating. We felt like a part of their family. The room was even more beautiful than in the picture and everything was very clean. I highly reccommend this hotel to anyone wanting a peaceful stay in Tuscany. ... Peaceful, serene, pleasant, and the best place in Tuscany to stay.

Gentleman was very helpful. Suggest you inform guests that the kitchen and glasses in the kitchen are for the use of the guest...we assumed they were, but we were not sure. There were no cups or glasses in the room. This is great wine country, wine glasses would be nice in the room along with cork screw. ... Suggest a table with chairs in the room. ... Might mention that the hotel is remote. ... A wonderful romantic room in a beautiful area of Italy, highly recommend the hotel and the area. Life there is the way life shold be all over the world.

There were a few misleading items on the website. For example, it stated there was a pool (but it wasn't at the facility). Also stated wine tasting was available and there were full breakfasts - niether of these were offered.

No welcome coctail, no information about what to do, the pool was to share with an hotel. ... On your web site it looked a lot nicer then it was in reallity. ... In the middle of nowhere and with just one trattoria in the village. I would not recommend it to a friend.

We arrived late so arranged by telephone to have the key left in an accessible place. This worked fine but unfortunately we were disappointed because the room was not the one we had booked. ... I went to a lot of trouble to secure the best room in this small hotel as this was a special holiday for my wife and I. When raised on the second day, management claimed a mis-understanding but agreed to check through the correspondense. A different manager had negotiated the stay. In all the time we were there, they didn't do us the courtesy of coming back to us with the results of their investigations and as a consequence we had to remain in a junior suite (rather than the full suite) for the duration of our stay. ... Even the room we stayed in was good value for money. That is not the point however. They made us a specific offer to extend the best room at the price quoted which they did not honour so for us it is a matter of priciple. ... The availabilty of dining options in the village of San Sano. There are two good restraunts in the village which one has to 'discover' for oneself. ... Very positively in all other ways. The staff at the hotel were friendly and attentive. San Sano is an idillic location in the heart of Chianti and lives up to the vision of Tuscany.
