We had a wonderful time in this area, and were very happy with the accommodations. The restaurant (pizzaria) downstairs was also wonderful. In fact, we decided to stay an extra night. The facility was clean, the bed wonderful, and the bathrooms modern and very nice. I highly recommend. Great location near Florence and Sienna as well as the Chianti region generally. ... Excellent value. We skipped the breakfast though as it was not worth the money. ... Breakfast not great. ... Great location, clean, friendly, great price and very charming.

we arrived at about 1.00pm when noone was at home check in did state after 2.00pm we came back after 2.00pm and the owner manager was helpful ... They need to do something about the breakfasts. What was provided was packaged toast and sweet tarts with coffee. only from 9.00am a bit late. we had to supplement the breakfasts with fruit and yoghurt we purchased at the local supermarket. This was a disappointing aspect of our stay. ... WE left early on the day of our checkout and paid up the night before. ... did not think that there was much of a personal touch here the important business was the restaurant not the b & b. No tourist information was available or provided when asked. ... Nice room above a restaurant, provide your own breakfast

Very good cusine, the best I have tried in the whole Tuscany,it should be marked somehow on your webside, because it is tremendous. ... The localisation is perfect for someone who wants to travel all arround Tuscany. Very good staff and you feel like in your own placwe beacuase of the privacy that was respected by the owners of the inn.

Although we visited in low season (November), we were pleasantly surprised by the small discount offered at checkout. ... There is a new laundromat less than 50 meters away, which also provides ironing facilities and staff that can do the washing for you (extra cost). ... A small, family owned and run B&B, located in a quiet part of a small town centrally located to visit Tuscany. Gabriele, was attentive and very helpful with advice on any of our questions, while being non-intrusive. His recommendation for restaurant, shopping, and transportation were excellent. We spent one week and will return without hesitation. It is not luxurious, but the rooms are spacious, clean, quiet, and well furnished (firm, comfortable beds). The bathrooms are small (by US standards, but typical for mid-range accommodations in Europe) but quite new and well functioning. The property lacks a 'view', but it is located in the town and makes an excellent central point to explore Tuscany and its many wonderful 'views'.

Directions: there are many circles or roundabouts and it took us 15 minutes of wandering around town to stumble onto the right one. ... The rooms were very nice, new, and clean, but the beds were rock hard and uncomfortable. Otherwise we really enjoyed everything about our experience at Fornace. ... Staff were great! Very helpful and friendly.
Beds were hard, and I usually don't mind a firm bed. ... Great location for access to other areas of Tuscany (Siena, etc.), but don't expect to have much to do in town. Great food at the B and B!

No ... Nice place, very nice room and bathroom-clean. The view is not so great but it doesn’t matter. The restaurant in the basement is nice, good food and not expensive. The breakfast is poor but there is supermarket near by. Price is good, the location also-between Firenza and Siena so it is very good “base” for making excursions across Tuscany. The only problem that we had was finding this place. There vas no clear sign, two streets have the same name, but you can’t miss it in the night because it writes in the neon light pizzeria. It is “The best Buy”.

La Fornace is centrally located for easy travel to Florence, Siena and smaller hill-top towns. The small town of Tavarnelle, home to La Fornace, has several excellent restaurants, including the pizzeria downstairs from the B&B rooms. The Tourist Information office was within easy walking distance and quite helpful. Gelato, ATM, pharmacy, small grocery and bar are also located off the main square. Host Gabrielle was also the chef in the pizzeria - very friendly and unobtrusive. ... Our room was standard-European-small, but quite clean and pleasant. It was not the larger one featured in most of the website photos. The advertised air conditioning was not available. We stayed in mid-May and the AC is not turned on until June 1. However, it was a great, central location and provided a small-town respite from Tuscany touring.

A small map of the street could be helpful. ... Overall, it was very good. There was a water problem all over the town, so there was not enough hot water. ... Comfortable. Good value. Very good Pizzeria Restaurant downstairs. A little noise from the hall. Good privacy. Nice host.

The instructions on how to get there were not all that clear and we had to drive around a few times before locating the place. ... The air-con was not working effectively and in high summer that would pose a problem. ... Great location as a base to visit the Tuscany region and the main cities of Florence and Siena. Good value. A self-drive car is needed however. Downside is that it is located too close to the big Incoop suopermarket (noise) and in a built-up area. No view from rooms. Breakfast is very basic so do not expect a lavish spread but the expressos help.
