We forgot to print out the website directions, so we didn't know where we were going. A guy at the Co-op helped us get there. ... The Villa was beautiful and the setting was gorgeous even though right outside the more industrious city. We were very surprised to drive up into it. I must say, it felt a bit sterile. Comfortable and very clean. But was missing the homeiness feeling. It feel quite new, which I think it is. So it should mature into itself eventually. Also, the 'spa' is not a hot tub. That was one reason we stayed there. Imagining sitting out in the hot tub at night. Come to find out it is just pool water with jets. ... I thought breakfast was included in my rate, but wasn't. But, the breakfast was wonderful anyhow. After driving around through the vineyards and getting to know the area more, I would say I would've rather been in the heart of Chianti in a more authentic villa that has been around a long time, yet modernized.
... The hot tub isn't hot. ... A new villa set up in the mountains. Beautiful view. Interesting decor. Not real moldings everywhere. Just very cool decorative painting to give the illusions of molding. Needs time to mature and cozy up a bit.

Beautiful resort, staff was friendly, place has alot of potential. However 4 big issues that I'd like to share. 1) lack of complimentary transportation to/from the railroad 2) lack of tours/winery tours offered or atleast recommended by the Villa, we were basically stuck with no car and no real idea on how to get around or site see in the wine country (unless we took a tour from Florence) so pretty frustrating. We finally booked a private tour. 3) No shower in the suite, extremely uncomfortable sitting in the jacuzzi and trying to bathe myself 4) no eggs offered for breakfast, which to me is a fundamental breakfast item, so pretty disappointing. A few minor changes would go a long way for Villa La Borghetta.
Thanks for following up! -Sonia
