By Car
From Pisa Airport:
Follow the blue signs for "Firenze" which lead you immediatly onto the Superstrada (S.G.C.) to Florence (not tools). Continue on this Superstrada, following signs for "Firenze" for approx. 55 km.
^^^^Exit at "EMPOLI EST" At the T junction turn left in the direction of "SAMMONTANA. Drive 1.5 km on this narrow road to the T junction. Turn rigth and drive 1km into the village of "VILLANOVA". Drive through the town (taking the middle road at the central junction), with the "Archi" sign to your left. Then fork left(where the rigth fork is Via E. Montale), drive approximately 900m then soon after the "SHELL" petrol station on rigth turn rigth. At T junction turn rigth then immediately after croosing bridge on way out of Casenuove, Turn hard left (in fron of "Da Sciabolino" trattoria).
After 200 m take the rigth fork onto the "VIA ORMICELLO". Drive along this narrow country road for 4.5 km until you reach the large gateway for "I MASSINI" on your left.
From Florence Airport and City:
Follow signs for "FIRENZE SCANDICCI" (which take you onto a dual carriageway over the river Arno). Follow blue signs for "PISA-SGC" - the Superstrada to Pisa. Drive approx. 9 km on this dual carriageway then follow the instructions above ^^^^.
From Other Areas of Tuscany
Approaching from the South or West:
Get onto the "SIENA-FIRENZE" Superstrada and exit at the first exit for "POGGIBONSI", driving up the slip-road then following the road downhill, to the left and under a bridge. Turn rigth and follow directions to "CERTALDO-SAN GIMIGNANO". After leaving Poggibonsi follow signs to "CASTELFIORENTINO" - ss429. At Castelfiorentino take rigth turn for"MONTESPERTOLI". Drive 8 km to "ORTIMINO" then after the village turn left in the direction "EMPOLI". Drive 9 km to the village of "CASENUOVE". As you drive over a small bridge on exiting the village, in the direction of Pozzale, turn sharp left - in front of the trattoria "Da Sciabolino". Now follow from ^^^^ above.
Approaching from the Nort-West via Florence:
Drive south join the "PISA-FIRENZE" Superstrada in the direction of Firenze. Exit at "EMPOLI EST" then follow from ^^^^ above.
From Rome Airport and City, Umbria and South-East Tuscany
From Rome: Follow the green signs for motorway "A1 - FIRENZE/BOLOGNA" to the ring road (Raccordo Anulare) which encircles Rome. Continue to follow these signs until they direct you to leave the ring road. Join the "A1" motorway, in the direction "FIRENZE", collecting your ticket from the unmanned tool both as you pass through. exit the "A 1" at "VALDICHIANA" paying the tool, and then follow the blue signs for "SIENA". At Siena, follow carefully the blue "FIRENZE signs onto the Superstrada (no tolls). Continue as from the south or west above ^^^^. |
