Monterchi, the medieval village that houses Piero della Francesca's famous fresco "La Madonna del Parto", is located on the border between Tuscany and Umbria, and is an ideal base from which you can reach places rich in history and folklore such as Anghiari, Arezzo, Cortona, Perugia and Assisi. |
 Our B&B, part of a property belonging to our family in Monterchi whose origins date back to before the 14th century, is an old farmhouse surrounded by the former farmyard, which is a wonderful garden today. It has been restored completely and carefully in the typical Tuscan style; just a few years ago it was still used as barn, drying room and stables. |
 "Il Colle" is a well-kept place that offers a special atmosphere to its guests. An apartment with a wonderful living room complete with a fireplace is available. When the fire is lit, it creates a magical atmosphere on winter days. The living room gives access onto a typical loggia of farmhouses from which you are rewarded with a striking view and where you can spend unforgettable hours peacefully and far away from the stressful everyday life of the city. |
 The apartment has two spacious bedrooms with windows overlooking the valley below. Both bedrooms are tastefully furnished with old pieces of furniture and contain double beds that can also be separated. There is a separate big bathroom with shower and the kitchen is well equipped. Moreover, the apartment has a wonderful terrace and a wood-burning stove, carefully preserved over the years from its ancient origins. |
The B&B "Il Colle" offers an ideal holiday destination for couples as well as for families or a group of friends. From here you can take a walk through a wood that also forms part of our family's property. Fruit can be picked according to season and its flavour enjoyed at table. |
If you want to relax and practise sport, you are ideally placed here: in this area you can go for a walk or a ride, you can play tennis or golf, you can canoe, surf, swim and much more. You're sure to enjoy yourself! You need to spend time here to appreciate its truly magical atmosphere. |
