The shower was the only aspect of the physical property that seemed a bit sub-par considering the level of the rental fees--for example, no dish in which to place soap or shampoo--only the floor of the shower. Also, the kitchen lacked some basic amenities such as paper towels, dish soap and sponges for cleaning dishes, which we had to buy.
One Il Casale staff member was extremely helpful to a member of our family who needed help in speaking with the Milan airport about lost luggage. She spent quite a bit of time on the phone assisting him. We were very grateful for the time she spent on this.

It would be good to mention that coffee and breakfast can be found at Il Casale's 'sister' villa a couple of hundred yards away, and that the outdoor patio there has a gorgeous view in the summer.

An unpretentious, quiet, charming old villa with friendly and helpful staff, located in a semi-rural neighborhood a short drive away from both Cortona and the nearby 'working town' of Camucia. The pool is excellent and has both sunny and shaded areas for lounging.

The property looked very spacious on the web site, but it was still very nice.

It was very convenient for day trips, shopping and food stores.

The apartment was very quaint, the rooms were furnished with antiques, and it was very clean. The grounds are full of flowers and fruit trees and the pool was beautiful.

We have visited Il Casale before. On both occasions facilities have been very good and we have had a most enjoyable holiday.

Charming and peaceful with lovely gardens and an excellent pool. This ancient comfortable farmstead has beautiful views to Cortona.

We found the property very hard to find. We drove up and down the road between Cortona and Arezzo quite a few times before finding the right turning. We later spotted signs but they had been hidden by foliage. The turning is actually at some traffic lights which might be helpful to mention and the reference to the Etruscan tombs in your directions was wrong:- Il Casale is BEFORE the tombs at Sodi when coming from Cortona.
We arrived at 4.30 and our apartment wasn't ready. It hadn't been cleaned. It was ready at 5.30. Although the host was apologetic and took our shopping to her fridge we felt that a gesture - eg bottle of wine - would have been welcome.

The outdoors surrounding the buildings and pool were better than pictured on web as there has been much planting of trees and shrubs since the photos were taken.
Our apartment was very nice - lack of light in the kitchen was our only problem. We really found it difficult to see to cook - there are 2 spotlights but they are not focussed in the best direction. We tried to move them but couldn't.

The swimming pool is not 18m x 16m as stated on the web. We think it is 16m x 8m.

Beautiful and peaceful situation - lovely trees, shrubs, flowers. Wonderful views over hill to Cortona. Great pool with comfortable longers. Huge, comfortable bed. Very relaxing place.

Despite it's 4 star rating, as shown on the brochure, Il Casale does not provide soap in the bathroom or washing up liquid in the kitchen. There are absolutely no basic things like a little salt and pepper in the kitchen. In a 4 star establishment we would expect soap, if not shampoo.

A wonderful place to use as a base for exploring this part of Tuscany - it is about an hour's drive from many beautiful towns and cities. Highly recommended - but take your own soap for the bathroom and kitchen.

We had a very difficult time finding it and ended up going up a single lane road where we got stuck; a kindly gentlemen helped us and led us to the property.

However, we did not see Cortona from the property as expected.
...
No fault of the property, but the credit card machine did not work.
...
It had a lot of character and charm. We would return.
