At the entrance on the ground floor near the Reception, there is a fresco whit the image of Piazza del Campo during the Palio race, that recall this event. The building is located in the heart of the historical centre of the city, in the 'Tower Contrada' (one of the 17 ancient quarters), just 100 m from 'Piazza del Campo', described by G.G.Marquez as "the most beautiful square in the world".

It faces a medieval street called 'Salicotto', where a few centuries ago, were located the storehouses utilized to cook and preserve the meat on salt. This street was once called the 'Via di Malcucinato' ('Half-cooked street'), on account of the numerous workshops producing cured meats. In fact even 'Salicotto' probably derives from this profession since 'sale' means 'salt' and 'cotto' means 'cooked'. Inside the building our guests can see a grotto, probably Etruscan, and a well bored in the tufa. They were found during the renovation works. Our apartments want to meet the requirements of the people who want to live a coloured and passionate city, immersing in the 'contrada' atmosphere and not giving up the holiday's house comforts.
