Florence airport is only 1 hr 20 minutes away and Pisa airport is reached in 2 hours 20 minutes. Rome is about a 3 hours drive and Milan and Venice are about 4 hours by road.
From PISA airport:
Get onto the motorway for Firenze for 75 kms. Exit at SIGNA. Get onto Motorway in the direction of ROMA. After about 7 kms get off the motorway at FIRENZE CERTOSA. After the toll, take the first turning right off the roundabout to SIENA. Exit at SAN DONATO and turn left towards Castellina in Chianti and San Donato. Carry on to Castellina in Chianti. At Castellina turn LEFT for Greve and Radda in Chianti. After about 1.5 Kms you will find a sign on the RIGHT for RADDA IN CHIANTI. Follow all signs for Radda in Chianti. (about 10 kms). Go through RADDA and follow signs for GAIOLE in CHIANTI and MONTEVARCHI. Carry downhill along the main road for about 3 kms until the next signposts for SIENA and GAIOLE IN CHIANTI. Bear RIGHT really straight on) and follow this road for about 7 kms until you get to a junction. Turn RIGHT for SIENA and carry along this road for about 5 kms until you come to a sign on the LEFT for SAN REGOLO, CASTELNUOVO BERARDENGA and CASTELLO DI BROLIO. Take this road. Continue along this road for about 5 kms (always following signs for Castelnuovo Berardenga) When you get to the entrance of the Castle continue along the main road for Castelnuovo Berardenga for 1 km. After 1 km you will find a sign on the right for SAN GIUSTO ALLE MONACHE and LUCIGNANO (it's a dirt track road) Take this road for 500 m and you will see HOTEL VILLA LA GROTTA in front of you.
From Florence Airport:
Follow signs for the highway "A1" (green signs) get onto the motorway in the direction of ROMA or carry along the motorway from Bologna till the EXIT of FIRENZE Certosa. EXIT the motorway at FIRENZE "CERTOSA". Follow instructions as above at this point. |
