The Restaurant
With its minimalist style the "Le Salette" restaurant produces an atmosphere of relaxation characteristic of the entire hotel. The cuisine consists of traditional Italian dishes leaving ample space for the tastes of its basic ingredients.

The swimming pool
The Hotel has a swimming-pool en plein air in the park with dressing-room and services bar and restaurant. From the autumn there will be a suggestive pool with Jacuzzi and chromatic relaxation in the grotto available all the year. This last making is an important and exclusive contribution placed to our guest.

The Park
One of the peculiar characteristics of Hotel Villa Aurea is the vast 30,000 m2 park that surrounds the villa and expands like a large terrace looking onto the Val di Chiana. To the left of the entrance road there is an aromatic garden that radiates from the pathways of jasmine, lavender, rosemary, and sage. To the right there is a walkway with two ambients that intersect in continual harmony.

The Italian gardens stand out with their network of walkways and old trees including the pine, yew, and red wood that lead to the swimming pool with the solarium en plein air. The strip of land to the right of the villa has remained intact with respect to the architecture from the late sixteenth-century that displayed a horrid and scary aspect of nature which was wild and exuberant forming a small wood with a dominating, characteristic cave made of natural stone. Returning towards the villa there are ponds with water lilies and fishes that harmoniously share the
space.

In the park, just in front of the Villa, one can admire a Giant Redwood (Sequoia) tree, one of the largest of its kind in the province of Arezzo. Even though the top was hit by lightning in 1980, it is still 21 meters high and has a circumference of 6 meters. Originating from the Sierra Nevada (California) mountain range, it was planted 150 years ago in the park of the Villa. Its botanical name is Sequoiadendron giganteum (Lindl.) Bucholz. Several other centuries old trees prosper in the park of the Villa: a yew (Taxus Baccata L.), a rare cypress from Monterey (Cupressus Macrocarpa Hart.), and a fir from Algeria (Abies numidica). These trees are cited in the guides of the province of Arezzo as trees of remarkable historical and naturalistic interest.

The antistress wellness center
The Psicoblu Method was created from the belief that the Regulation of Stress and the Quality of Life find their fundamental place in the mind. This consists of an integrated, psyche centred system for the knowledge and management of stress for the improvement of the quality of life. The creator of this scientific method is Doctor Marco Bertelli, a researcher at the University of Florence.

During the stay at Villa Aurea, the resources available help to face the most widespread prejudices, guide in the difficulty of definition, provide explanations for the sources of negative stress and describe their consequences favouring the individualization of personal generators and the growth of instruments of control. All the services develop around a pleasant path of knowledge and defining the way in which each individual thinks and attributes significance, relates with himself/herself and his/her external world, and adjusts the relationship between interests and satisfaction in various areas of life.

Meeting room
The hotel has a comfortable conference room for until 50 people with services bar and restaurant and modern services of vision and communication. Its disposition is particolary fit for business groups and privated presentations.

Cortona
"From a high Tuscan hill, fifty miles from Florence between Arezzo and Perugia, rises the equally ancient and nobile city of Cortona. Before the city lies a vast and beautiful plain, it is flanked on either side by distant hills and valleys while behind it are towering yet fruitful mountains. Cortona has a picturesque aspect, quite a bit longer than wide, turned toward the midday sun. Her district is fertile and is abundant with all that is necessary to human life. It is Cortona marked by the Meridian-Antartic star sign, feminine, in motion, pungent, earthy, frigid and dry and under the noble reign of..." This is the description of Cortona in one of the first known guidebooks, compiled by Giacomo Lauro and printed in Rome in 1639. In order to assist tourists of the times, the guidebook was illustrated with a map of the city, an aerial plan line drawing by Pietro Berrettini. Berretini was a Cortonese artist best known as Pietro da Cortona and his drawing lends prestige to this guidebook.
After nearly four hundred years that description is still valid. Cortona has changed very little in its urban make up, it remains there, framed in the center of a triangle which has for its corners three of the cities of Central Italy which are most rich in history and art works, Arezzo, Siena and Perugia. About eighty kilometers from Florence, Cortona remains a satellite of this city, remaining in its orbit nearly 500 years from 1411 the year of the loss of her independance as a free Comune until 1860. Before embarking on a visit of the city (located 600 meters above sea level), it would be opportune for the tourist to be familiar with the essential threads of history which run though its culture and artistic treasures.
