The map on the website did not have very good resolution and, when printed, was difficult to follow. - It would be nice to have a largge, 'high resolution' version of teh map avaialble for printing. ... The property was fantastic and better located than expected. The staff was wonderful, curteous and provided a beutiful experience. ... The L' Antico Pozzo is a true gem nestled right in the heart of San Gimignano. The rooms are very comfortable, the bathrroms are very well appointed and the building has trememdous charm and character. The staff was super friendly and helped to create a wonderful stay. We chose this hotel based on teh recommendations of many repeat customers and are pleased to say that we will be a repeat customer at the next chance we have to visit San Gimignano.

Very nice people ... Enjoyed our stay very much - would stay there again. ... Very smooth checkout. ... The front desk people had a lot of helpful advice - e.g. how to drive into Florence. ... Wonderful hotel in 15th century townhome - helpful people, beautiful views.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. The hotel itself is ideally located, beautifully decorated and well run. The staff could not have been more accomodating and their assistance in making our stay trouble free was very much appreciated. I would like to say a personal thank you to the night porter on duty upon our arrival. His professionalism, courtesy and general friendliness was without doubt one reason that I would want to return to the hotel.

WE OPTED FOR A LARGER ROOM AT A SMALL PREMIUM IN PRICE. ... Very well maintained and run hotel. Not on one of the piazzas, like some other hotels, but quieter for it and still close to all the attractions. The upgraded room was worth the extra 20 euros.

Only comment I would add ref directions is that there are two car parks, one at 6 Euro a day and other at 15 Euro. The first is further out but ok, we used the latter as much easier/nearer. Think its called Baggio or something. As for Hotel arrival, really very helpful and warm reception. ... Only there for two days however, met 3 different people on reception duty and all were very helpful and welcoming. Would recommend this hotel to others. ... Very organised ie paper work and efficent. No problem at all ... Think the website is pretty clear. One thing perhaps is that pictures of rooms are not the standard rooms, ie need to upgrade to get the ones with four poster or ornate plaster ceilings. Small issue but picked this up on trip adviser. Having said that, the standard rooms are absolutely fine. ... Good location just inside the walls, easy to find. Lovely building and rooms, very clean and staff good at job, smile and are polite and pleasant.
Really enjoyed our stay there, if returned to the San G (which we may), would definately use the hotel again.

It would be helpful to have a high speed internet connection. The connection they have is dial up and very very slow. ... The hotel is in a superb location. Helpful and cheerful staff. The accomodations were clean and charming. Located in a beautiful city. I would highly recommend the hotel to friends and family.

Picture of the room was nicer than the one we received. They must have shown a better room than the one we received. ... This is quite a touristy town. Toom nay tourists during the day. They all leave by 5 or 6 pm. MOntelpuliciano is a smaller town with similar shops. I would base myself in that town and do day trips from there. This town is much more busy than the other twon becuase it is closer to Florence. The town itself is very nice. Its just nicer when there are not alot of tourists around. ... Great place to visit. Many shops. A must see. The town is busy with tourists during the day and they all leave by 5 or 6 pm. Do not leaveTuscany without visiting this place. This was my second favorite place in Tuscany besides Montelpulicano. The smaller towns in Italy are nicer and less busy. Any town that is close to Florence will get day trippers that flock to Tuscany on the buses and or trains. The towns that are outside of a one hour bus ride from Florence are a better bet as there are less tourists in these areas. Hire a car and visit them. More tourist go to the Tuscany that are within a bus ride or short train ride to Florence.

I was thrilled to find that this hotel was so convenient to the arrival point (town gate and rural bus stop). ... I loved this hotel, especially the modern fittings which were nonetheless completely in keeping with the medieval fabric of the property. ... Central, elegant with Italian garden.

We asked for a quiet room and that is just what we got - Room 11 at the back right next to the courtyard were you can sit out for breakfast. Large bathroom with lovely, big bathtub. Lovely stay in this hotel with original medieval to 18th century features, and the best of the the hotels we stayed at on our tour through Tuscany. It's enhanced by the town itself being so wonderful. ... Mention Dante and the breakfast room's history Your design on the home page for the hotel makes it look a bit naff, so just showing one of the nice bedrooms and the breakfast room or courtyard would make better impact.
Your security watermark is too overpowering and detracts from looking at the pictures.
... Just what you imagine and hope a Tuscany hotel to be.

Our stay at Antico Pozzo was wonderful. It offered a wonderful and quiet place to stay while we traveled around the area. ... The room we were given was smaller and not as pretty as the one in the photo. We were able to upgrade, at a cost, to a room thar was more quiet (on the 3rd floor), which I would highly suggest. The hotel is made of rock and all noises are amplfied.. ... see above ... wonderful

An explanation on how to drive right to the hotel to unload baggage before going to a satellite parking area outside the town walls, would be helpful. We lugged our bags up many stairs and through the town, which the receptionists told us was not necessary. ... Great location in a charming town. Historic property with lots of personality. Recommend highly!

The Hotel was beautiful and we enjoyed our stay in San Gimignano immensely. The only thing I would recommend is that you include which parking lot to use in your directions. ... Need to say where guests should park and give directions to that lot. ... Comfortable, beautiful, and worth the money.

In the heart of town. They did have a very good book in the reception which listed local facilities, restaurants and dishes.

The air conditioning unit in the room was not as efficient as expected. Even when set at full power, the bedroom remained hot and stuffy. ... Very nice hotel in an excellent position within San Gimignano. The car parking / minibus service to the hotel was efficient, making the arrival process much easier than anticipated. The hotel is decorated to a high standard and well laid out. Breakfast was well presented with a good choice of food and the service was polite and efficient. I would recommend this hotel to any of my friends if they intended to stay in San Gimignano.
