You get a true taste of a Tuscan villa due to the location on top of a secluded hilltop. Words can not describe this property. You can not walk to any services, but if you are using a driver like we did the breakfast was provided and we ate supper before returning or cooked in the well equipped kitchens. Impaired travelers should be made aware that there is no lift, and the villa is very large, so getting your luggage to your room should be considered. We pack very lightly.

We stayed at Borgo Grandaie 11/6/03-11/8/03 and were thoroughly pleased with our stay. Our room was wonderful the breakfast satisfying. The Co-op was another welcome convenience. In fact, when we got home we recommended Borgo Grandaie to an aquaintance who needed accomodations for two families. They reported to us that they were also impressed and intend to return. The only drawback is that I thought it was a little far to walk into the ancient town of Siena and the bridge closest to Borgo Grandaie is still not finished.

My only challenge was finding the COOP Store - once we found that, it was easy to find the place... ... We loved the place - would definitely stay there again! ... I thought the web page was very accurate. I would also indicate that there is a laundry available on-site with an ironing board ... I would describe the place as a lovely B&B with a great facilities, beautiful views, and a lovely pool.

We had a wonderful time at Borgo Grondaie. The apartment was charming and the staff was very helpful. They even drove us to the car rental office to pick up our car. We would recommend the hotel without reservation. ... A lovely hotel with a charming staff. The apartment was elegantly furnished and absolutely spotless.

We only stayed 1 night at Borgo Grondaie, but it was a very pleasant experience for our first night inTuscany. Spotlessly clean, well-equipped, great pool and perfectly located for exploring Siena. ... Watch out for mosquitoes round the pool at dusk!!!! ... Great location for Siena. Ideal for a few nights, or a city break. Perhaps not quite so suited to a longer holiday for a family, as pool is quite small, and facilities limited.

It was a warm welcome there and all things were as we expected. ... More pictures on the web site would be helpful, because the B&B Borgo Grondaie is more beautiful than we thought before. So it was good surprise. ... There was only one thing, that was not so good as we expected: the way from the main street to the hotel was bad. Not really the street, but you have to pass a big Coop-Shopping Center and the back side of the railway station. In fact, not really inviting. The last few metres to the hotel were ok, but rd. 500 m before were with a bad view. Although the view from the garden of the hotel were not really over hills and Siena, you saw a part of the backside of the railway station and then some of the big residential buildings round the station area. That was the only bad thing, we had the hope for a great view over the Tuscany. But at the end, the hotel was great, although the beautiful garden with the pool. We are sure we will stay again in this hotel, if we are in Italy the next time. The location of the hotel is good for trips round in Tuscany, it's a central point and really close to Siena. ... A beautiful hotel with great service and very helpful and polite stuff. Central located in Tuscany, really close to Siena, a good position for trips around in the country. The hotel is quite new and stylish. We will come again.

Borgo Grondaie was a lovely spot to stay and met all of our expectations. The staff were courteous and helpful, the rooms were clean and well appointed, the grounds were lovely, the breakfast was terrific and the pool was a peaceful oasis after a busy day of sightseeing. I would absolutely recommend this B&B to others.
Find the Borgo Grondaie was quite a difficult experience. We were not expecting it to be in such a commercial location. It took some careful concentration to find it initially.

All the staff we encountered at the B&B Borgo Grondaie were really friendly, very capable in conversing in our broken italian with their very good english! I would definitely recommend this B&B to other travellers, although the 20 minute walk should be described as hazardoud due to the road works & lack of footpaths-mind you, the taxis were great! All in All a very enjoyable holiday, and Yes we would go back! ... Super Site-Please continue to put more residences up on this site! ... dunno, didn't feel I needed it ... same ... extremely simple ;O) ... very warm & welcoming ... the road works locally

It was one of the nicest places we stayed and I only wish we had been able to stay for more than one night. ... A picture of that beautiful pool and a discription of the increadable breakfast buffet. ... A real find in the Siena area, spaciouse accomidations, clean modern facilities that keeps their historic architectural charm. The pool was so enjoyable and the breakfast buffet was increadably generouse.

We were a little cold because the weather was unseasonably cool for May, and the staff told us that Tuscan law only allows the heat to come on for three hours a day in May, so we were uncomfortable for a couple of nights until it warmed up. ... It is neccessary to take a bus into Siena because, even though it is not a very long walk, it is up a long, steep hill. It is much easier to walk home. B&B Grondaie is probably better for those with cars. ... It is well-run, comfortable, extremely clean and a very pretty place to stay. The breakfast is also very good, and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. An excellent value for the money.

We loved this place and will be recommending it to friends. Information might include that it is an easy bus ride to the center--which is better than taking a car. They had the best breakfasts! ... Our room was really wonderful. The grounds were beautiful and it was perfect to have access to ample free parking. We took advantage of the COOP and purchased our dinner for two evenings there plus some wonderful Italian wine! The walk into town was about 20 minutes and to return in the evening by taxi was very easy. I would definitely recommend Borgo Grondaie.

I was unaware that the driving instructions were on the website. Fortunately, street signs were adequate enough for us to find the B&B. ... We thoroughly enjoyed our accommodations! ... I believe its proximity to the Coop was a definite plus. Having a supermarket so close was very beneficial. ... We had a wonderful stay. My only negative dealt with the fact that we were staying in a first floor apartment and with no carpeting on the floors, it was loud when people upstairs walked in their room. Having said this, it would not stop me from staying at the B&B Borgo Grondaie again.

everyone was very helpful, and i think that the pictures on-line don't do the property justice, very beautiful. ... the only drawback was there weren't extra towels, had to ask but they were given out without a problem. ... no ... yes, the property is little more of a walk than expected, if you have a problem with hills you might not want to walk to siena. ... a very beautiful place with views overlooking the tuscan hills.

This was our second stay at the Borgo. The double that we had requested was not available for the entire stay, so they put us in an apartment for two days and then moved us to the double. The doubles are perfect, but we LOVED the apartment. the only reason we had to move was because there was a booking for the apartment. We will request an apartment for our next stay. ... We will continue to reccomend the Borgo and return on our next trip to Italy. ... The staff is always very pleasant, speak English, willing to help and make suggestions of things to do in the area. ... We went horseback riding one day. The brochure said that the guides were English speaking (ours did not speak one word of English and for a 3 hour ride that was kind of a bummer) and the brochure shows the riders riding through a river/water. the staff should be sure to point out which riding facility actually allows that. No big deal though. Just a thought. ... Outside of the city but well worth the price of cabs.

Although the B7 B is very close to the trsin station the directions could be more clear as the streets merge into a round about and a sharp hair pin turn immediately after crossing the bridge is required inorder to proceed to the B & B. This lack of direction from the website and poor street markings caused some confusion. ... The exception to the quality of the rooms was the last day we experienced an ant infestation in the bathroom. Once this was brought to the attention of the recption, we discovered that this was an on-going problem and that the exterminator had been called that morning to rectify the situation immediately ... The dinner service was exceptionally good and all staff were very pleasant to deal with. The staff was curteous (in English and Italian), helped us plan and organized our day trips both with organized tour groups and on our own time. ... Quiet, affordable, clean, pleasant, curteous and helpful staff, wonderful meals... Despite the fact that the property is located just on the outskirts of the walls of Siena proper it is still close to public transport, the train, and provides ample parking space for individuals with cars. This is important because parking it extremely scarce within the walls of the city. Furthermore, its walking distance to the grocery store makes it extremely convienient for those individuals who wish to pick up snacks and grocery items. This works very well for those who stay in the apartments the the B & B offers. The quiet location allows to you to step back and relax from the hectic touring schedule.

Staff very helpful in assisting us with travel plans in the area. A beautiful Tuscan setting although a bit of a walk from the main town square. We had an apartment with cooking facilities. Hotel was walking distance to major grocery store that was well equiped with everything that one would require. ... Staff helpful in getting us taxi to train station. We had use of their internet services without charge. ... More specific directions. Not walkable from the train station if you have Heavy luggage ... A wonderful setting to enjoy the Tuscan Landscape.

Clearer instructions for finding the place by car
... Very friendly, pretty, quiet and clean with a special atmosphere, close to the beautiful city of Siena. We found it a bit far to walk to the city center, but it was easy to get a taxi both ways, and not expensive.

This note is in regard to our recent stay at Borgo Grandaie in July 2006. we have all wonderful things to say about this place. It is a beautiful setting! Everything is clean, well maintained, quality apartments and ammenities. We were treated with the utmost hospitality and respect. We were able to use the washer which was well needed. The pool was beautiful and pristine. We were given a wine tasting lesson and thoroughly enjoyed it. The breakfast was probably the best we have had in Italy. Our price did not include that though. Of our 25 day stay in Italy this was probably the best setting and also maintained the best. I can't say enough positive things. I'd love to stay there again. Very peaceful and serene place.

We did not feel that we should have had to pay for pool towels. For the premium price of the accomodation, everything should have been included, including cleaning of our apartment. We felt constricted by the many rules and regulations that seemed to be posted everywhere; in the room, at the pool, etc. And though the staff was cordial, we did not feel that they were genuniely friendly. Everyone seemed annoyed under the facade of friendliness. ... The true walking distance from the town of Siena. It is a bit farther than described. ... It was a beautiful property, but we don't know if we would stay there again. For the premium price, we feel we should have received premium service. We were not entirely comfortable at the hotel. If we were to stay there again, it would be for a short stay-1 or 2 nights as opposed to a longer stay.
