We arrived an hour earlier than it was
offered in the voucher. That was why the receptionist was a little confusing and first he wasn't polite at all.
But nevertheless we could enter our rooms a few minutes later so it was okay.

We later liked it so much, that we stayed two days longer than we planned it.

Massa Marittima is a quite wonderful little town with many charme.

It is a fair-price-hotel in a wonderful town. The way to the city-center is just about 500 m.
The beaches of Grossetto (not recommendable) and Punta Ala (really great) are comfortly to reach.

Although we had very good correpondance over the internet in English, the language spoken in the hotel is exclusively Italian.
I experienced difficulties to require various information at the desk.

Accommodation and hotel was better than expected.

Very friendly customer-oriented staff. I felt safe and comfortable the entire time. This hotel really goes the extra mile (for example, picking me up (with my huge suitcase) from my bus stop on the other side of town and driving me to the hotel. Amazing.

It was unexpected that the rooms would be cleaned every day, especially as the hotel is only listed as a 2*. Massa Marimttima was also a much nicer town than I expected with very good value for money restaurants.

The bill was fully listed so easy to understand and the receptionist was very friendly and 'grateful' for our stay.

The hotel does offer evening meals that can be ordered on the day at a very reasonable cost.

The hotel is set on a farm.there is olive groves, apricot trees, Fig trees, Almond Trees, pear trees, cherry Trees and Chickens. The breakfast was great, fresh eggs and fresh fruit,the views from the bedroom windows and by the pool totally make up for the fact that this hotel is quite basic.

The operating family was wonderful in every way. Breakfast was delicious. Very accomodating.

The hotel was very nice - lovely views, big room, clean, quiet, and the meals were excellent. Much better than other 2-star hotels.

The hotel is on the outskirts of Massa Marittima rather than in the town. It made it a bit hard to find as we were walking, not driving. However it also meant it was very peaceful and had excellent views of the surrounding countryside.

I ordered a bouquet of flowers for my wife, arranged by the hotel, for our arrival. These were beautifully presented, in a vase, and on display in the room when we checked-in - excellent service.

Good, clean no-frills accomodation, with excellent views to the rear over open countryside. Easy walking distance into the centre of the old town - but ideally carry a torch for the return evening journey.

When are they serving souper. I mean, when we made our reservations we got a friendly mail from the hotel that they were not serving souper in the month July. That's not a problem and the hotelstaff was so friendly to send us an e-mail. Very good service, but maybe this could come on the website.

Most of the food is prepared out of own production (vegetables, oil a.s.o.) - tasted very good. For every Dinner you have had the choice between 3 up to 4 different things in a set of meal.
You can reach the center of Massa Marittima by feet in about 5 minutes.

Nice small hotel in a quite region, not far to the mediterranean see (about 25 km) - good starting point for visiting the highlights of tuscany.

Hotel was very clean and comfortable, in a lovely location. Breakfast was excellent.
Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for dinner due to refurbishment, but the hotel was well-placed for walking into town to restaurants.

The photos on the web site are well done and make the hotel a bit look better than in reality, but I think this is normal.
It was quite loud in the hotel, it seemed that a lot of guests were running and shouting in the corridors of the hotel and around the swimming pool.

It is an average hotel for a reasonable price, but if you want to 'feel the spirit of the Tuscany', I would not choose this hotel because the rooms look like and have the atmosphere like in any other holiday hotel in the world.

Well since we booked a half board lodging the food can use some improving. We expected really tuscany food but what we got was good, clean but not really 'italian' food. It was more German/Swiss style than Tuscan style.

It was stated that Il Girifalco had a busstop in front of the property. That was not the case but this was perfectly solved by picking us up by private car from the nearest busstop. Very friendly and cooperating !!!
