On your directions you state, go towards Sambuca, but there is a road right over the S1F1 that is labeled Sambuca. In the direction you should emphize to pass this road to the next road and turn right.

The dishwasher failed when we first arrived and could not be fixed while we were their. But , the staff had a repairman out but he had to remove the unit to be fixed.

Location is very good, but explain the road to it is good but narrow.

The front desk at Fonte de' Medici was helpful beyond words. Every wine tour recommendation and restaurant recommendation was top notch. I even took to asking the front desk to make restaurant reservations for us a few times. I'm looking forward to a return visit sometime in the future.

Since they knew we had arrived on an overnight flight, they had the room ready early so we could nap, and sent over a plate of cheese and meats... Wonderful!

This trip for my family of six was the dream of a lifetime and the Fonte de Medici was the absolutely best choice. We woke up our first morning realizing it was a dream come true, and that the grounds and accommodations were PERFECT. It was absolutely gorgeous, with Julia and Matteo and the other guy in reception (I cannot remember his name...sorry!) as wonderful hosts. The location made our trip. We awoke each morning to staggering beauty and absolute quiet...and from that location, ventured to Pisa, Lucca, San Gamingano, Fiesole, and of course, an easy ride into Florence. We have already been raving to friends and family.

Exquisitely appointed agritourismo location in the hills of Tuscany. Modern facilities tucked inside buildings of old world charm. Staff was incredible and helpful and cheerful at every turn, food in the on-grounds restaurant was delicious. This family of six HIGHLY recommends the Fonte de Medici and if we ever return to Tuscany, this will be our destination.

This was a wonderful property. The people were extremely helpful and friendly. Our accomodations were beautiful. The food and service were excellent. We will definitely be returning for a longer stay in the future.

There were complimentary bottles of wine in our rooms, from the vinyard. That was a nice touch.

The views were breathtaking. The air crisp and clean. It was an incredibly peaceful setting. The rooms and baths were very nice. We stayed in 4 hotels during our trip to Italy and this was out favorite. My teenage boys alos liked it the best.

I was a pleasure to arrive at the Fonte de Medici. Very friendly staff. Clean appartment. Very good wine waiting for us.

We stayed at Nebbiolo and it was far beoyond our expectations. Beautiful appartment. Very well equiped. We especially loved the huge shower. Also the kithchen was wel equiped.
The tennis court was also of good quality. Much better then most of the hotels I have been to.

Some of the rooms are not air conditioned, ours was. We did speak with some guests that were staying in one of the non-air conditioned apartments and they mentioned it was a little warm. It is noted in their brochure which rooms are not air conditioned.

Receptionist was very welcoming and we were abel to go through to the restauratn and have dinner despite arriving late.

I think the photos of both the accommodation and the grounds could be a lot better. Fonte is a truly stunnign place and I don;t think the website does it justice.

The only two problems we experience were lack of with were the lack of fresh daily towels with the maid service and the beds mattresses were like sleeping on a rock they were so hard. Otherwise a great experience.

We had a very difficult time finding Fonte de' Medici. However, I don't know that it was their fault. My husband had not driven in Europe for many years and it was overwhelming for both of us. You might want to review the directions looking at them through the eyes of a foreigner.

Everyone was so friendly and accomodating. The COOP in Mercatale was recommended for purchasing food. The continental breakfasts were the best of our two week stay in Italy. Viktoria gave us the name of a guide for a day trip in Rome. The day with the guide in Rome was one of our best in Italy. Please continue to recommend him.

I found the Fonte de' Medici on the web. I was a little apprehensive about what we would find when we arrived for the week. It was exactly as you described. I was not disappointed in any way. It was all that I had hoped it would be and more. The beauty and tranquillity of the area cannot be conveyed in words. You must see it!

The only negative is the driving to it. Once we got the feel for the area, driving became better. It seemed like a central location to see San Gimignano, Siena, Pisa and Florence.

Tuscany is like a postcard. Everywhere your eye fell upon beauty. I would highly recommond it. Fonte de' Medici is an ideal place. It has all the accomodations and services of a four star hotel. The bi-lingual staff was so friendly and competent. I used my newly learned Italian when I could but really didn't need it.

Very beautiful place and helpful staff. The only downside was that a wedding reception was held outside of our room until 11:30 p.m. on our first night. Music was loud and we were never notified until we checked-in that this was being held.

I would include whether or not each room has air conditioing. Some rooms do some do not. The two apartments that we rented did not have air conditioning and it was quite hot. We used fans.

our chosen room was not available, so instead of staying in a quiet location we were in a noisy one. This spoiled our stay.

The property accepted a bus load of guests. We stayed there expecting it to be quiet. These guests played loud music until 2AM. We were very unhappy and did not sleep well.
Restauarnt was very basic - a disappointment.

The fact that they accept bus parties of tourists is a big negative, which would have made us avoid the property if we had known.

However, the room was very small and attached directly to another room. We requested an upgraded, larger, unattached room. The hotel accoodated but only after protracted discussion.

We enjoyed Fonte de Medici. The staff was somewhat helpful, but the setting was beautiful. The upgraded room with small kitchen was very comfortable, although the staff was a bit agrumentative about why we would want to move even though occupancy was low at the time. Staff seemed very overwhelmed by about 25 guests, cannot imagine what it would be like fully occupied. Finally, we expected better accomodation at Antinori - since the name is associated highly with the property. They were unable to assist with wine visits, buying or shipping. Should be clearer that there is little relation between wine operations and hotel.

Stay was more than expected, as we elected to move to a larger room. The bill I received at check out was incomplete, as all items had not posted. A second, although accurate bill, was posted to my account after departure.

Beautiful setting, very clean, charming accomodations. Nice pool. Staff is modestly accomodating. Make sure you get good directions if you are unfamilar with the area.

The directions to getting there were fine up to a point. Once you got close to the property, but not quite there yet, they became very confusing. The road shown on the map was closed for repairs, and there was no information about how to get there by an alternate route. We ended up driving around for quite awhile trying to find our way back.
