Profile |
Covering an area of 15 hectares it extends mostly over the hill where il Fondaccio is situated except for 3 hectares of sown crops in the valley. This firm, which has been producing wine and extra virgin olive oil since the '50s and which has belonged to the Falzari family since 1990, is entirely run by two brothers Sergio and Roberto Falzari, the former of whom looks after the wine production. |
Spending most of his time on the farm, he follows the wine through all its production phases from cultivation and on site intervention to harvesting, wine production and bottling, continuing his studies in the field of agronomy and at the same time continuing his passion in the enology sector and in the art of the sommelier. |
Thus producing: The "Madrigale" Chianti D.O.C.G. made from traditional vines of S.Giovese, Canaiolo and Colorino grown on the tufaceous and clayey soil in front of the Fondaccio. The Bianco dell'Empolese made from Trebbiano grapes, on the lower part of the vine. Extra virgin olive oil made from oil mill olives; leccino, moraiolo, pendolino, rossellino and cerretano. |
