It was so nice to pull into the long driveway and wind down towards the beautiful stone and brick Florentine Villa surrounded by grape vines, olives, and a rosemary hedge. Everything was ready for our arrival including a welcoming sign on the door. Simone was there to greet us and meet our every need. He was able to arrange the rental of bicycles and ensured there delivery and subsequent return. ... This is an amazing Villa, an 11 out of 10 in my rating! We were in a party of 7 adults, this Villa will easily house 8 people and meet your every need. The grounds and landscaping are beautiful; grapes, figs, olives, pomegranates, rosemary, basil, and sage, are all at your finger tips. Did I mention the excellent LaValle wine and olive oil, both are fine examples of the Chianti classical cuisine; this I know, as we went through over 2 cases of the wine and a few litres of the oil. Simone and his brothers are gracious and very accomodating hosts.
You will need a vehicle for transportation but there are easily 2 dozen towns (with 2 dozen wineries) within a 20 km radius, all worthy of a visit; especially San Gimignano. The train station at Castelfiorentino is 7km's away and gives you access to the entire Toscana Region. Getting groceries at the Coop at Montaione (3 km's) or Castelfiorentino is a snap. Some great restaurants in both these towns.
This was truly one of the most relaxing and stress free holiday we have ever enjoyed. I would highly recommend this Villa and I hope to return in the near future.
... Extremely accommodating, professional and most of all, TRUSTING. These are very fine people with very strong moral values. They actually believe in the goodness and inherant honesty in people. Very nice to see. No pressure to settle up the account.
We made life difficult in wanting to split the bill 3 ways with 3 different Credit Cards and this transaction was easily taken in stride by Simone. The check-out was totally stress free. ... They mention that a vehicle is necessary and I would highly stress that it is a necessity. Castelfiorentino should rent vehicles but it is tough to do so over the internet from afar, I would suggest renting from Empoli as driving from there is much easier then Firenze.
The kitchen has a fireplace/BBQ area built-in and they leave wood nearby to use. I would suggest to take full advantage of this and purchase some charcoal and quick light blocks from the Coop and cook over the red hot coals.
For the fitness oriented people be prepared to change your jogging regiment. This is Chianti and it is all rolling hills, you will be either starting your runs up or down hill, so you guessed it, there are very little flat areas. I did see a gym (Palestra) on our last day outside of Castelfiorentino but didn't get a chance to visit. ... If I had the means to own a place in Tuscany, this Villa would meet and exceed my dreams of what I could ever want. It is a slice of paradise that enhanced the beauty of the area.
I would highly recommend Residence Fignano to my friends and anyone else!

This is a lovely villa and everything was better than we expected! All of our wedding guests stayed at the villa with us and while our expectations were high, the management assisted in exceeding our expectations! We had every amenity at our disposal and have never been happier! ... Villa Fignano is a new facility with a pastoral feel. Although outside the region traditionally referred to as Chianti, it is centrally located to all desirable Tuscan tourist destinations (San Gimignano, Volterra, Siena, Florence, etc.). The nearby towns (Montaione and Castelfiorentino) have all the basic necessities without the hassle of a large city, teeming with tourists. (Although you must have a rental car to enjoy your stay.) The view from the villa is breathtaking, and the grounds immaculate. There are a large pool, satellite TV, laundry, and fully stocked kitchens. The staff (Roberto and his three brothers) are friendly and helpful, but unintrusive. The villa (with its four apartments) sleeps 26-28 people, and is a remarkable value for the price. I will not forget my stay there, and venture to guess that you will not, either. It was perfect.

I knew as soon as I saw the long windy, cedar laden driveway that this was a quiet beautiful villa....everything that I thought Tuscany would be. ... Spacious accommodations ... I would recommend this villa to all of my friends. I only wish we had gone there sooner in our stay in Europe. We would have been going to Tuscany every year. The Town of Montaione was quaint and the people there were also very friendly.

Roberto, David, and Simone are most hospitable. Very kind and helpful. ... We stayed at F. before, so anticipated the same level of accomodation. Whereas, we have no complaints per se, we did note a few a points that would make a stay more pleasant and accomodating: ie, such basics as salt, sugar, toilet paper, soap (bath, dish) are not provided, this is very inconvenient given that arrival dates are set for Sat and stores are closed on Sunday. Also, for the season it would make sense to leave basics such as oil, vinegar, condiments= items that are only needed in small quantities-from one guest to the next. Obviously clean out the fridge and cupboards of things that will spoil, but leave the basics for the next group because it's a real trial to need only 3 tsp of something and have to buy 3 cups. Also, the bathrooms need, need, need hooks/racks to hang towels/clothes. Towels end up on chairs, beds, floors because there's no place to hang'em. Also, the fridge in Verdi needs attention- the door panel squeaks like crazy. The stove light doesn't work. ... Terrific location for exploring NW Tuscany. We have stayed there twice and would stay there again and again. The good news is that Montaione is becoming 'discovered'; the bad news is that Montaione is becoming discovered. ... We have recommended Fignano to several friends.

Due to traffic delays, we had notified Residence Fignano that we would be late arriving (after 9:30 pm) and they had left the key for us. When we arrived in Montaione, we made were several wrong turns in the dark and ended up getting our car stuck in the mud.(As tourists, we were unaware that in small towns, the side streets have the same name and are distinguished from each other only by a small number on the sign.) However, the staff at Residence Fignano not only helped us get our car out of the mud, but also loaned us a car until that time. We were overwhelmed by their generosity! ... The fishing pond was not available for use and the tennis court was in poor condition. But, the accommodations were excellent and the pool looked very inviting. We will definitely recommend Residence Fignano to our friends. ... Beautifully maintained. ... A beautiful, well-maintained villa overflowing with Tuscan charm. From the spacious, tastefully decorated accommodations to the peaceful gardens blooming with color, you feel enveloped in the Tuscan experience. Definitely a place we would return to.

The directions could be improved by stating that it is on the main road between Castelfiorentino and Montaione ... The only thing supplyied was toliet paper. It would have been nice if there was some soap. To use the kitchen we had to buy everything. It would help if there were some basic things like salt, pepper, sugar, dishwasher soap, paper towels, napkins, etc. ... A very nice facility for families with children. The pool is wonderful and there are nice terraces to sit outside and enjoy the weather.
