The farm is hidden in the tuscan countryside, among the small roads that lead to know corner of the Chianti area still remained as in the old times: ruins of rural houses that you can meet on the road, ancient Churches like Sant¹Appiano, medieval hamlets, like Linari, at 1Km from the farm. The apartments were restored during the years: two in the main farm, two in a house inside the hamlet, and four in a grange near to the swimming pool. The simple style of the apartments, equipped with simple tuscan furniture, will let you spend a holiday near to the rural life of the country. |
Successively it passed to the Pitti, Ughi and Ghibellini families, this last mentioned in Dante's Paradise (XVI Canto) as one of the great noble families who helped make Florence "a city that counted" "io vidi gli Ughi e vidi i Catellini, Filippi, Greci, Ormanni e Alberighi, gią nel calar illustri cittadini". They were succeeded by the Muzzi and Pier Francesco di Guccio of the Gucci of Florence until today's owners, the Cappelli family.. |
The soil is mostly sandy-tuff and in some parts rich in fossils and grit. Mr Domenico Cappelli has passed on his love of farming and respect for the environment to his sons and grandsons which is why the farm is run as a family concern with the owners taking direct responsibility for production and sales. Family traditions are com-bined with the most innovative, dynamic and modern wine-produc-ing methods. |
