But the room was at the top of a very winding narrow staircase which was awkward if not dangerous to get to. Inside the room there was a large step as well and you could only get out of the bed on one side. It wasn't that good and the shower was a very tight cubicle to get into.

The room was ok see my comments above - it was better than poor but in no way was it good.
Breakfast was appalling there were not enougth tables laid outside and only one waiter. The food was a buffet laid out inside in a very hot room crawling with flies. The milk was off. The service at the swimming pool was poor. The breakfast tables inside were in a room so hot that they couldnt be used.

This is not a four star hotel. It is a restaurant with some rooms for people to stay. We heard many people complain about the place.

Go somewhere else. You have much better hotels available. It is by comparison with those that this place suffers.

We would highly recommend the Relais Il Falconiere our accommodation were upgraded from a junior suite to a suite. But even without this nice surprise the location, facilities and staff were exceptional.

With Cortona as a back drop how could you go wrong.

Staff was there and very helpful. A porter was made immediately available and helped us with our luggage and everyone was very sweet!

This was by far one of the best and most beautiful properties we've ever stayed in! Relais Il Falconiere absolutely made our vacation perfect! The cooking lesson was fabulous and the food was the best we ever tasted! Staff was incredible...5 star service all the way! I am definitely going back soon!

I have showed the picture of the property to everyone..all my friends and family and everyone loves it! It is a gorgeous property and the owner, Riccardo stopped by our table every single night to chat with us! It was even better than we expected!

If you are into 'quaint and charming', ask to stay in the main estate building (200 plus years old) --- large rooms, slanted floors, huge baths, but air conditioning not very strong. If you are into 'new', ask to stay in the dependency building, but somewhat removed from restaurant and reception.

Quiet, casual, but elegant country estate. Well situated for daytrips by car to Cortona, Arezzo, Montepulciano, Montalcino, Monticchiello, and nearby Umbria.

This may well be our favorite accomodations in all of Italy-
the staff is attentive, the rooms are top notch, the view is amazing, and the restaurant truly special.
Il Falconiere is truly special.

Private tours given by the owner of the onsite winery. A beautiful falcon is onsite, and if you're lucky, the owner just might allow you or your time with it.

Receptionist upon check-in was extremely friendly and welcoming. Took us to our room and asked if we would like a drink send to the room. Very nice touch.

A very quiet, charming place to spend a few relaxing days. The village of Cortona is very nearby for a day visit.

we didnt have your directions and we didnt think there were enough signs to find the property. It was hard to find at nite. There should be many more signs. There is only one location where Falconiere sign is available.
arriving at nite, my husband started to bring all luggage to check in desk but then we took a van to our room!

breakfast service was not as good as other tuscany hotels we have stayed at. they ran out of many items and never replenished the items. Waiter was agitated one morning about us sitting in the nicest table as it not set and farthest from the kitchen. That was not acceptable in a relais of this level.
