We were welcomed by Philippo who is very very nice. He showed us around the house, the domain and explained us all we needed to know.

We had a fantastic stay in San Fabiano! Philippo, Rachel, Alessandra... were very very nice and the property is wonderful! We stayed in the house El Tortore. Everything in good shape, great beds to sleep in, good kitchen... everything perfect.

When we left we could say bye to the whole staff and got a go away bottle of wine as well.

The domain is wonderful, when we got up in the morning we saw sunflowers all around is.

A magnificant place to stay with friendly people, good accomodation, great service! All you need when you want to enjoy a wonderful vacation.

I cannot say enough compliments regarding my
stay. Filipo and Rachel were gracious hosts.
We had wine upon arrival and they made us
dinner reservations for that night. Filipo
also directed us to a local family run grocery
store so we could have fresh meats, cheese,
bread, and eggs to keep in our room.

Filipo was like our own personal travel agent
during our stay in Tuscany. He made
reservations for horseback riding AND drove
us. We went on many wine tastins that he
arranged for us, and he had perfect
directions for all the main sites and cities
throughout Tuscany, including the Prada
outlet. He also called the car rental
company for us and changed our drop-off to
Rome...and printed out succinct directions to
get there. I have never experienced such a
personalized stay anywhere.

the estate grounds, including his father's
castle, while speaking about the history and
flora/fauna of the property.

Indeed a friendly welcome with words, attitudes and a bottle from the vineyard itself. Later int the evening we found that the wine tasted smooth with a very nice character. Our hosts, Filippo och Rachel, told us av lots of things about the vineyard and all this possibilities for the guests, winetour on the premises and so on. We went to bed inte the heart of the vineyard, the wine cellar, suite il vino. San Fabiano is a excellent base for excursions ino Toscana.

It is everything you could want in Tuscany and the history of the estate is awesome.

The Estate is incredible and you must do the tour of the estate. If you have an opportunity the cooking classes are amazing. The Wine and Jam are great. Overall we will be bringing our family back for years becaus of the hospitality. The Hairgroves

The owners are charming and to us their welcome and inclusion in their family made the stay particularly memorable. Many of Phillipo's comments gave us a far deeper understanding of Italy than would have been possible in a mere hotel.

We arrived after lunchtime, when restaurants are closed. But Fillippo called the restaurant in town and accompanied us there for an enormous antipasto.

We enjoyed an entire day with Fillipo that he arranged for us and some other guests: a tour of the beautiful estate, a winery tour and lunch at the winery's restaurant, cooking class at San Fabiano, followed by the sumptuous dinner for all that a group of us prepared.

We were not only greeted by Filippo himself, he made us feel quite at home immediately. He and his wife Rachel very engaging, knowledgeable historians, wonderful story-tellers, and make you feel completely relaxed.

I hesitate to think of anything that could improve the lovely San Fabiano. Perhaps if there was paper which showed the schedule of train and buses from Monteroni di Arbia in the room for those visitors, who like me, had a hard time using the phone system, it may help. The only reason I say this is that I felt that the owners and their staff Alesandro and Pedro were so gracious, I hated to pester them with this kind of detail question. Not that they EVER made me feel this way however.

The only thing that was a surprise to me was that the 'laundry facilities' were not a coin operated washer/drier set-up, but done by the owner's maid/housekeeper personnel. One handed over his dirty laundry to her and then she cleaned them. This is not a negative or a positive, it was just a surprise.

I have already told several friends and family members that our stay in San Fabiano was a perfect respite after a hectic week in Rome. After much planning and saving for this dream trip, we had to strike a balance between the desire to 'see everything possible' with the reality that a break was needed. At San Fabiano, this was perfectly achieved. I could not say more about the graciousness, generosity and good humour of the owners, Rachel and Filippo. Furthermore, the lovely surroundings of the Tuscany area are world renowned. We were able to go on outings to Siena and Florence at our leisure because 'in between' these day trips we could hike, take walks to the charming town, go to the weekly market,etc. In other words, we could just 'be' in Tuscany, Italy. It was, in a word: perfect.
I hope to do this again, God willing, soon.

When we got a little lost, we called and got great directions! When we arrived, Fillipo carried our luggage and shook our hands, so polite! He asked if we had eaten, and when we told him we hadn't, he told us how to get to the only restaurant open that night.

We loved the guided tour of the estate, we really got to know about our host and his family history. It was an amazing experience that we will never forget!

Beautiful property and setting. The hosts went above and beyond all expectations to make sure we had a wonderful stay. This is the second time I have stayed here and I would definitely recommend it.

Directions from the train station for those arriving without a car - Walk directly away from the train station into the town. Turn right at the first T intersection and walk along until you see the signs for San Fabiano on the left.

We were greeted by Filippo the owner and made to feel very welcome. He explained everything about the villa and the services and even made us some Italian coffee.

The only thing that didn't work was the satelite tv, but that didn't matter as we were not there to watch it and also that and our own pc were things we were not expecting.

We appreciated the lift to the train station as we were without a vehicle.

Filippo gave us a great walking tour of his large property, including the castle and ancient church on his land. It gave us a great insight into the history of his family and the region. This was a real bonus.

The incredible accommodation and beauty of the surrounding farm made our stay very special. The owners and staff made our time an enjoyable one. They also gave us two great restaurant recommendations. We got amazing value for money and would recommend San Fabiano to anybody.

Fillipo came and picked us up at the train station which was very helpful.
The bottle of wine was wonderful.
The room we had reserved was not available when we arrived so we were given another. We like this room even better and remained there our entire visit.

Filippo is a most charming host. He takes great care to look after the needs of his guests. The property is well located a short walk from the town which has an excellent Osteria. It was a very pleasing stay.

Fantastic! It was perfect in every way. We were offered every accomodation asked for, provided guidance in town and on the property. We felt like family before we left. I would highly recommend it to anyone travelling through Tuscany.

Stunning! Clean, filled with charm.

It is a paradise lost. Old world charming bed & breakfast with a surrounding countryside that takes your breath away. The rooms lead into a main kitchen on one side and a back enclosed patio and yard on the other. We had access to a pool, my daughter ran daily on the grounds,and we could easily walk to town for dinner, the market, or gelato.

My family had a good time staying in San Fabiano. We just regreted that we only arrange 2 nights stay in this lovely farmhouse which has rich history and surrounding fun. We used San Fabiano as the base to travel near-by Tuscany and Siena area. We should have had spared one extra free day to go around San Fabiano property and Castle that Fillipo has introduced to us. For all,it's a cozy,relaxed stay to us.
