We didn't use the directions provided since we were picked up at the train by a family member. ... We were staying at Villa Ducci for a wedding party and were very pleased with all of our accommodations and food, especially the food. Elisa was exceptional in making sure we were well cared cared for. ... picturesque, family-oriented, very comfortable

The accommodation was excellent and the view spectacular. However, the breakfast was poor, especially as it degenerated as the days went by. We ordered dinner once and were also disappointed. Fifty euros was too much for a very basic dinner, admittedly three courses, in a somewhat uninspiring diningroom. for the rest the stay was excellent. We originally saw Villa Ducci in a travel brochure where is was listed as a 4 star hotel. without television, radio or room service, it is difficult to see how this could be a four star hotel. Having said this, we wanted peace and quiet, and Villa Ducci does not advertise that it has television, which is why we booked there. As far as we were concerned, except for the breakfast on the last three days, we were very happy with our stay and the price we paid. Your service Tuscany. net is excellent. ... It should be stressed that there is no TV ... quiet comfortable luxurious bed and breakfast with panoramic views and without television or radio. Ideal for total rest. Breakfast is uninspiring and have lunch and dinner somewhere else.

The mattress seemed sub-standard.
Also the dinning room was cold in terms of amience. It reminded me of a cafateria rather than a charming romantic villa ... A chraming quiet nice place. The food at dinner was great.

As we drove up to the villa we were taken aback on how gorgeous it was. We were welcomed warmly by Elisa, one of the owner's daughters. She couldn't have been more personable and enjoyable. Our room has fresh flowers in it and it was nicer and larger than we expected it to be. ... My husband and I are lucky enough to have not only a vacation there but our wedding recpetion on the Villa Ducci terrace. It was all so perfect we felt it like was out of a dream! ... When we checked out after 4 amazing days and a spectacular wedding celebration, the staff was genuninely sorry to see us leave. We have promised our return! ... The property is so much more breathtaking than in the photos. It is truly a magical place! ... A picturesque Tuscan villa with modern amenities and with a warm staff, excellent food and overall spectacular ambiance.

We where in Italy one month, by far this was the most welcoming and friendly stay that we had. Our room was a nice size, light and airy, a comfortable bed with french doors that lead out onto a terrace and a view of San Gimignano. It was a standard price roon. We cannot say enough pluses about Villa Ducci. Very accomodating people and our breakfast was also very nice. Thank you for asking. I so wanted to tell someone besides our friends. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Please say Ciao to all the lovely people who work there for us. Villa Ducci was recommended by a friend, Rita and Andy Uribe.

Very friendly greeting. Hosts were very helpful with queries and requests ... The pictures on the web site do not do justice to the property, its views and its facilities. ... Ideal location within easy walk of Sam Gimignano, but with the advantage of privacy and excellent views of the town and surroundings.
Excellent kitchen (meals) ... Top value for money (great appartment accommodation, facilities, furnishings and meals). Unobtrusive but friendly and cheerful hosts always ready to assist. Best location around San Gimignanao (proximity, views, privacy).

We chose to walk from San Gimigano at night, i didnt bring a map and when i called Villa Ducci for directions they not only gave us them but they came a picked us up too! Very much appreciated. ... Regarding .7 - most - Our stay was not in the summer season so the swimming pool etc was not available. I checked this before we booked so it was no problem or suprise, but i think it would be a good idea if you gave approximate dates for seasonal facilities. It saves the client having to e0mail and ask if its open. ... Its only 400m away from a bus stop linking to San Gimignano and other towns in the region. ... A charming location with beautiful views of San Gimignano and the surrounding hills. But best of all - the staff were so friendly and went out of their way to help us.

Villa Ducci was fabulous; but we did get lost getting there from your directions. ... Villa Ducci was fabulous and the staff was excellent. Our room was lovely; nicer than we anticipated. It was quite large, very clean, and nice and cool in the hot weather!! ... The Villa has been so beautifully restored; I didn't expect the accommodations to be so up to date and modern. And the pool was also nicer than expected; just beautiful. ... The PERFECT place to stay in Toscana to visit the area. The location is excellent, the Villa is charming and beautiful, the rooms are exceptionally nice and comfortable and the staff is extremely helpful and gracious. What more could you ask for?

Made to feel welcome from the start. Friendly, multi-lingual staff. ... The children & I shall return! Accommodation tastefully furnished, very clean & comfortable. Staff friendly & helpful. Views stunning. Food, tho' limited menu choice, was well prepared & representative of Tuscany & the children's tastes were catered for. GPS co-ordinates were provided to pinpoint navigation. Thank you. ... Smooth transaction. Well prepared & no delays. ... Add GPS co-ordinates (for all properties).
On a relatively busy road - some traffic noise from the front rooms.
Fridge in bedroom would be useful - next year we shall book an apartment at Villa Ducci. ... Sample authentic Tuscan cuisine with stunning views & friendly, helpful staff. Tastefully furnished (the Italians have so much more style than the English). Well located for Pisa, Firenze & 'Chianti-shire'.

we were surprised that we didn't have our apartment cleaned and our bedding changed during our 8 night stay, we have stayed in many other apartments in Europe and have alwayed had our roomed cleaned and fresh bedding at least twice a week. We did however receive fresh towels. Our voucher also stated a that it would be a double bed in fact it was a twin, we were a little disapointed as it was our honeymoon. There was no hot water in the kitchen which made washing up differcult. ... Our apartment had very low ceilings in the kitchen and living area this should have been brought to our attention when booking. ... Lovely and relaxing, very friendly staff fantasic views

Our room had stunning views and was very comfortable and relaxing to be in. It is difficult to convey this impression/feeling on a website and whilst the website was accurate in every way my husband and I did feel that we received more than we had expected. A very pleasant vibe/atmosphere.
... This was the easiest check-in and check-out process of any place that we have stayed in Europe. The lady who checked us out of the villa spoke 5 languages, very impressive indeed. ... Perfect.
Everything went smoothly and all of the staff were very pleasant and willing to help but were also unintrusive. Our room could not have been better and the scenery surrounding the villa was stunning. We loved the set menu for evening meals which changed daily - it provided us with an excellent introduction to local Tuscan fare.
The only thing we had difficulty with, and this had nothing to do with the villa itself, was the lack of footpaths in the area - we were nervous walking on the side of the road with cars driving past at extraordinary speeds on narrow roads. A walking track of some description from the villa to San Gimignano would have made this more comfortable though I can see how this would be difficult to achieve without the help of local authorities and/or local property owners.
We would definitely recommend Villa Ducci to friends and would love to stay there again sometime.

Very helpful and painless ... The stay was excellant and the apartment was eveything we expected ... The only negative thing I would say is that although the villa is only a few kilometers from the village the road is pitch black and as a result you could not walk back at night. ... Excellant and a very good base for touring Tuscany, the apartment and especially the pool area were spotlessly clean.

They were expecting us and they were very polite. In our reservation we asked for an especific bedroom, and of course we have it. They give us a lot of extra information; good restaurants, good things to visits, directions... ... Because it was in janaury we were alone in the house for almost all stay, so it was very paiful and calm. ... It was all ready for us. ... It is a very paiful place, very good located because is in the cauntryside, but very near to Sant Gimignano, wonderful place, and no so far to FLorence and Siena. It has a very good and new intalations and the bedrooms are very big and beautiful. It is a wonderful place to visit and I supose that in spring and autum it will be nicer than in winter, because of the landscape and the weather. And in summer it will be wonderful to go to the children, they have swimming pool.

Your property is lovely, and intriguing, and very relaxing. The staff was always polite and helpful. The only drawback is the distance from restaurants/San G. However, we had a bus driver willing to take us anywhere, so it worked out great. I'd love to visit you again in the future! ... See above. ... The Villa Ducci is a warm, welcoming property, a wonderful place to relax after a day of touring Tuscany. It's fun to explore the property and the hallways of the medieval building turned hotel. The staff are very pleasant and helpful, and very proficient in English. Love to go back!

Villa Ducci was the best property for the $ value that I stayed in while in Italy. Everyone was pleasant and courteous. The property was beautiful, the views spectacular. My room was lovely. The breakfasts were good. It exceeded expectations. ... The only drawback to the Villa was lack of transportation from the property to San Gimignano or surrounding towns. Without a car, taxis were the best mode of transportation, but the $15 E ride for 2-3 miles to SG seemed very high. It would be nice to have some sort of shuttle service that might be less expensive (ie $5). I was directed to the city bus which was very inexpensive, but it required a 1+ mile walk and a little confusion about where the bus stop was. The hills made it a difficult walk back to the Villa in the heat, all uphill. The taxi service was good when arranged by the Villa, but there was one or two occasions where we could not get a taxi while in SG without great difficulty. I would recommend to others that they be prepared to pay high transportation costs if they are coming without a vehicle. ... Lovely accommodations, nice, relaxing,a great value for the money.

We emailed later about the availability of laundry facilies at the Villa Ducci and they said that they had a washer available. ... The Villa Ducci was ideal in many respects - the location, pool, gorgeous rooms, lovely breakfasts in a lovely breakfast room, spectacular view of San Gimignano from pool and patio.... but befroe we went, we emailed asking about laundry facilies because we were in Italy for three weeks and this was important for us. They said they had one washer we could use and then after we arrived they said we could not use it. They took our friends laundry and had it dry cleaned which was very expensive. This was VERY upsetting for our friends and seemed misleading to us. Here, the hotel would have made some compromise like splitting the cost but there was a big argument.... I spent from 10am until 2pm one day looking for the self service laundromat and then doing my laundry because specific, clear directions were not given to me on how to get there. ... They should be clear that there are absolutely NO SELF-SERVICE LAUNDRY facilies are available at the Villa Ducci. They should also be very explicite about directions to the self-service laundromat which is quite close in Poggibonssi. ... Villa Ducci is absolutely lovely in a spectacular location with a lovely views. But I would also describe the laundry problem...

It was not clear to me where the reception door was and so I drove right past it and to the wrong side of the building. Someone quickly came out of the hotel to let me know that I had passed the office door, but it was a bit awkward to then have to back my car around the tight corner. Perhaps a description indicating where the office door is and where one can park would be helpful. ... We were traveling with my 6 year-old daughter. The staff went out of their way to make her feel welcome. They even let her 'help' in the kitchen one morning. They were so genuinely sweet with her. ... I expected to pay with my VISA credit card because your website indicated that I could. When I checked out, there was no one who could speak English available. It seems there was a problem with the telephone lines and they could not process any credit transactions. After about 30 minutes of trying, I left my card information so that they could process the transaction later when the lines were working. A few days later, I got a call from the hotel telling me that they needed to be paid in cash because they could not process the charge without physically having my card. I then had to go to the trouble of having a bank transfer and use cash when I did not want to do that. This was an unpleasant finish to what had been a very nice stay. ... They offer a lovely Tuscan dinner each evening for a fixed price. You must let them know in advance if you plan to eat there. ... I have already recommended the hotel to a friend who is planing on going there in a couple of months. I've stayed in the area before and found this hotel to be the best so far.

In the room, there was no refrigerator. The food in the restaurant in the evening was nog very fine (for 4 stars). In the bath room there was no ladies cap for bathing.
If there should be so much attention to the details for customers as to the furniture and interior design of villa ducci, it should be very fine. ... see comment above
