David, the host, met us on the street as we were walking into town. A very pleasant surprise.

David was extremely helpful and nice host. The room was a good size for our family. The availabliity of the kitchen was a plus. The weather was warmer than anticipated, thus the room warmer than we would have liked. We would, however, stay there again!

We arrived many hours earlier than I'd told them, but the owner showed up within a few minutes of our arrival after we called him, and was extremely helpful and polite and actually *thanked* us for showing up early with no notice. He pointed us in the direction of some good restaurants and activities in the area, and really made us feel at home.

Great room, big and clean and well-appointed. After having previously gotten used to Italian showers, the unlimited hot water in our room was a very welcome surprise.

The check-out time was, of course, in the morning, well before we wanted to leave Lucca, and we were allowed to leave our bags in the common kitchen area all day and keep our front-door key until we left town. This was really helpful to us.

We could not have been happier with our room. The owner, David, was friendly and helpful. The room was big and clean and in a great location. I would definitely try to stay there again if I go back to Lucca.

When we got there we needed to call the person responsible for checking us in. A couple was there before us and they contacted them and they arrived in a timely manner.

They were very accommodating in holding our luggage for us while we finished touring Lucca and until our ride arrived. They met us at an arranged time for check-out and for us to pick up our luggage. They were always very friendly and helpful.

We did have a little difficulty finding it at first, we walked down Via Fillungo, but were unclear where the street ended so we missed it. You can't see it from the end (where we thought the end was) of the street, you have to turn left and then will see it in front of you. Maybe include a landmark in where to find it.

It was very cute and quaint, very clean and the people we had contact with were very polite and friendly.

While at first we were especially irritated to arrive at the hotel and find only a note, giving us a number to call to have someone let us in, the stay and the people most definitely made us forget!

Please let people know that the owner is not at the hotel, they will need to find access to a phone in order to call him and have him come let them in.
