A broad and deep panorama opens before your eyes. The sky as bleu as desires...
This is one of the most beautiful territories in Tuscany, fascinating during all seasons. By car or on foot, on a horse or bicycle, you can discover uncontaminated woods and reach cottages, villas and farms in the middle of countryside harvested with care and arabesqued by vineyards, olive groves and cypress trees. And according to the season, there are wheat and sunflower fields which animate and brighten the wide valley.
This scenery was chosen by the Italian directors Taviani brothers for filming "La Notte di San Lorenzo" (1982) located in the medieval village of Villa Saletta, near Palaia.
As an alternative to the mass routes, for those who wish to, may take original and historically interesting excursions, here you will be fully immersed into the Tuscany's beauty, speckled with historical/artistic evidence of noteworthy esteem, the most deep rooted popular traditions and the authenticity of this region's cuisine. |
