Edi (the receptionist) was very helpful and friendly. The owner (Carla) was also there and very accomadating. Their English was pretty good.
...
We loved it here. The pictures on the website don't do the property justice. The panoramic view of Tuscany from our room and the pool were breathtaking. Everything made for the honeymoon of our dreams.
...
The walk from the parking to the apartments might be a little steep for some older people. I don't recall that being mentioned on the website.
...
If you want a true Tuscan apartment in the beautiful countryside, this is the place to stay. The blending of modern technology and old world charm is perfect and makes for a wonderful stay.

Casa Vacanze Bucciano is a great place to stay. We'll definitely recommend this villa to all our friends. The location is great for family. The children truly enjoyed the swimming pool (though the spa could use a little heating)! The view is great! The rate is one of the best around the Tuscany area. We'll go back again, if an opportunity comes up.

Edi, the receptionist, was very friendly and alwyas willing to talk to us in English.

We recommend you clarify the directions from Florence, that (1) you travel via the Fi-Pi-Li (not the Autostrata) toward Pisa, and that once you exit and follow the signs toward the center ('il centro') of Ponte a Egola, and then La Serra. The one 'Il Centro' sign confused us, since we were looking for 'Ponte a Egola'.

The highlight of our tour in Italy! Very family friendly!

We loved staying at Casa Vacanze!! We had a very difficult time finding it because we were told to use Mappy.com; this was not helpful to us and it would have been better for us to use the autostrade and then exit toward La Serre. However, we called Letizia, told her we were lost, and she came to get us and led us to the property. She was lovely and so was the other girl (Jolanda?) who was there.
...
Letizia and Jolanda (Ukranian woman) were excellent. The property is beautiful and we enjoyed our room very much.
...
Wish we could have stayed longer!

Wonderful, but get good directions!

We arrived on a Sunday afternoon. So I'm not too bothered by the fact that no one was there. However, It took me a while to find a pay phone. Also - San Miniato was difficult to navigate to find Bucciano. Not sure the best way to explain how to get there.
...
The website is great - it does a great job illustrating the property. I've stayed at other farmhouses and Casa Vacanze is very exceptional in giving you that real flavor for Tuscany.
...
We had to leave early on Wednesday morning and no one was there when we checked out. I e-mailed the property later in the week to make sure everything was fine - and Casa Vacanze was very accomodating.
...
I've often described the property to friends as a wonderful place to stay. Love the location - very convenient and accessible.

The property is well situated atop a hill overlooking Tuscan hills and farms. The swimming pool is really great.
...
Your website did not make clear how far the place was from the old town of San Miniato. In the future I will choose a place that would be closer to town. The walks or hikes up the hill, though, are quite pleasant. Fresh Tuscan air. This is the center of truffles--black and white ones. If you are a gourmet, the place can be almost heaven.
...
When we arrived towards the end of May, 2004, they were still building additions to the property. The main villa is now occupied by swallows that fly in and out. You must visit the winery next door. The white and desert wines are better than the one produced by the owners of Bucciano.
...
Very relaxing place--peaceful and quiet. From our room we could see miles out to vineyards and farms and hills. The swimming pool is really great and the rooms are decorated in good taste. Driving up the narrow winding road can be a bit harrowing. Do not try to find the property in the dark. Make sure you arrive in daylight.

We used a map to find our way to the property as directions appeared lacking in detail, but we would have been better sticking to the published directions, as we became lost. We arrived earlier in the evening than arranged, after having a minor incident with our hire car. When someone arrived at the appointed time, they made us feel very welcome, and produced 2 bottles of wine to help us get over the stress of our journey!
...
We were delighted with the standard of accommodation and the friendliness of all staff at Casa vacanze Bucciano. There was building work going on nearby, but this was not intrusive. We would be happy to recommend this location to anyone.
...
Sorry to be leaving so soon!
...
The property is being developed further, so facilities such as the pool and parking may need to be expanded to cope with more guests. Go there quick while you can enjoy the relaxed atmosphere! Building work causes dust but is not intrusive.
Breakfast (served in a beautifully renovated cellar) is well worth the small extra cost - the eggs are wonderful!
Make sure you head for San Miniato Basso if you need a supermarket - not the old hill-town. If you decide to drive to Florence (trains are recommended, but not very frequent) and are confident at navigating - avoid the main FiPiLi near the A1 as it is permanently at a standstill. We halved our journey time by driving through Scandicci backroads.
...
The situation is absolutely stunning, and the accommodation has been beautifully renovated in a traditional style. The location is ideal for visits to Florence, Pisa and San Gimignano as well as relaxation in welcoming surroundings. Hard to beat the panoramic views from the pool. You have to get used to climbing, both by car and then on foot from the parking area, but its well worth it for the views, and the sense of remoteness despite being accessible. We would definately go back!

The house renovation is beautiful. Furnishings are very nice and the apartment met all of our expectations. The swimming pool was beautiful and the family in charge of the property was very kind. Small language barrier since they only speak Italian.

The only negative comment I would have is the lack of a place to eat dinner. he drive back into town is very twisty, windy. There are few restaurants in the nearby towns. The Casa Buchiano shows a dining room on their website, which led us to believe dinner was an option on site.
...
Charming Tuscan Casa with a beautiful pool and view. Remote location, yet close enough to the AutoStrada and major sights to be convenient.

WE arrived at 4:30 PM, and the front gates were locked. We had to shout to a gardener to let us in, and he called the receptionist. It took her 45 minutes to get there. When she arrived, she sisn't apologize for keeping us waiting--she just asked for our passports.
...
The property is lovely, and the rooms are very comfortable, but for our first three nights, no one else was staying in the hotel, and we were alone in the huge building--no one from the staff stays there! I was surprised that we were expected to take out our own garbage to the garbage dump, and there was no maid service.
...
I checked out the night before, as the receptionist was going to come in late again. This place seems to operate with virtually no one there most of the time.
...
The lack of maid service should be pointed out. On the plus side, it's worth searching for. The facilities are gorgeous, and the rooms are clean, quiet, and spacious.
...
Beautiful, but a little creepy. We didn't like being alone on a large estate at night.

i think they had either misplaced our reservation or had forgot that we were arriving on a sunday - there was no one to greet us in fact another guest let us in and called the receptionist - our room wasn't ready - not a big deal we just hung out at the beautiful pool in the meantime.
...
there is no telephone in the room or on the premises. there is no internet access either.

Unfortunately clothes including underwear were left in the apartment from the previous occupier.
In addition the shower was far too small plus little room in the toilet.
