charming country facility in a beautiful setting, run in an informal but servicable manner by the owner. 15-20 minutes from the nearest town but worth the quiet and the view. Limited activites for children (aside from the pool).

We had a wonderful experience at Fatoria di Cosona, and have already recommended it to our friends. The lady of the house could not have been more gracious, accomodating or pleasant. We would not hesitate to stay there in the future.

We weren't 100% sure which entranceway to use, so we parked and walked around the property a bit, looking, and then a worker or friend of owner pointed us in the right direction. The owner then came out and was fabulous...very attentive, left lots of good food for our breakfasts (best we had in our month in Italy) and even had us into her part of the castle for aft. tea one day. Perhaps a sign indicating which building to go to,along with a little bell to ring would just clear up that little confusion we experienced.

Everything was great....the owner even turned on the heat for us (didn't happen every place we stayed). One minor drawback, there were quite a few little ants in the bedroom...they even got up into my suitcase---could have used some ant traps or a good spray. (we felt it was a typical situation that occurs in spring..not because of poor housekeeping.)
