Located within the Val d'Orcia Heritage Park lies the castle and hamlet of COSONA.
How to reach Cosona from Rome: the higway A1 (Milano-Napoli)-exit at Chiusi -Chianciano Terme. Take the country road (46) in direction Chianciano, Montepulciano, Pienza. As you leave Pienza in direction SanQuirico d'Orcia, after about 1km, you find the sign for Cosona, follow it and turn left after 5 km ( sign for Cosona). After 4 km you'll see the Castle of Cosona on your left. |

How to reach Cosona: - from Florence: higway Firenze-Siena, exit Siena Sud, direction Roma. via Cassia. After Monteroni, Buonconvento , at km 193 you turn right , you cross the village Torrenieri, always straight on; after about l km, you find the sign Cosona to the left. After 5 km you arrive in Cosona .
- from the airport of Fiumicino to Cosona: it would be about 250 kilometers and it would take about 2 hours and a half (it depends on the traffic). You have to drive towards Rome and take the A1 Motorway (green sign)than following the direction of Florence; the exit is CHIUSI-CHIANCIANO TERME. You pass through Chianciano, than pass by Montepulciano (without entering in town) in the direction of Pienza. Pass through Pienza in direction of San Quirico d'Orcia ( on the right at the junction). After about 1 kilometer you find a brown sign on the right reading COSONA. Take this way for about 5 kilometers, than you find another junction on the left with the same sign COSONA, and Siena. You take the dirt road for about 5 kilometers, and you will find the Azienda Agricola Cosona. |
