| | |  Il Colombaio B&B is located in a one of the most beautiful and enchanting areas of Tuscany, at about 15 km South-West of Siena a town well known all over the world for the richness of its artistic, historical and cultural heritage and at about 60 km from Florence. From here you can reach Florence and the Mediterranean sea in one hour. Five minutes away there is the "Merse" River and the Petriolo Thermal Spas are only 20 minutes away. The nearest village is "Rosia" located at 1 km from us. |

You can rent a car in the airport of Florence, Rome or Milan by Maggiore Rent-a-Car with which we have an agreement, or another one of your choice. Then follow these instructions.
By car from Florence: Enter the A1 toll highway direction Rome, exit at "Firenze Certosa" and proceed in direction Siena. When you are in Siena, without leaving the main road, you continue in the direction Grosseto (SS223 road). After about 10 km you will find an "Esso" gas station (the only one there is), continue for about 2 km and TURN RIGHT at the signs indicating: Orgia, Brenna, Montestigliano, Stigliano and "Torri 8km". Go ahead on this road and pass the signs "Orgia", "Brenna", "Stigliano" and "Montestigliano" till you find a sign "Torri" (a big cypress is on your left side). At the sign Torri turn left, follow the cypress slope road and, before the cypresses end, LOOK AT YOUR LEFT SIDE and take the first or second unpaved road on your left (a grass square is there). Proceed another 20 meters and you are arrived!
By car from Rome: Take the A12 toll highway direction "Civitavecchia-Grosseto". When you are in Grosseto, take the toll free motorway to Siena (SS223 road). About 10km before Siena, TURN LEFT when you find few indicators poining: Orgia, Brenna, Montestigliano, Stigliano Rosia and Torri. Go ahead on this road and pass the signs "Orgia", "Brenna", "Stigliano", "Rosia"and "Montestigliano" till you find a sign "Torri" (a big cypress is on your left side). At the sign Torri turn left, follow the cypress slope road and, before the cypresses end, LOOK AT YOUR LEFT SIDE and take the first or second unpaved road on your left (a grass square is there). Proceed another 20 meters and you are arrived!
By car from Milan: Take the A1 toll highway direction "Bologna-Florence". When you reach Florence, WITHOUT EXITING THE HIGHWAY, follow the signs for "Rome" and exit at "Firenze Certosa" and proceed in direction Siena. When you are in Siena, without leaving the main road, continue in the direction Grosseto (SS223 road). After about 10 km you will find an "Esso" gas station (the only one there is), continue for about 2 km and TURN RIGHT at the signs indicating: Orgia, Brenna, Montestigliano, Stigliano and "Torri 8km". We strongly recommend you to print these instructions and take them with you before you leave!!!
By train & bus: in Siena in "Piazza Gramsci" Square you will find the bus station where you get the bus for "Rosia". When in Rosia please phone us and in 5 minutes we will come and pick you up. However we strongly recommend to rent a car if you want to visit the area, because Il Colombaio B&B is at 2km from the nearest bus station and to do it by walk every day is not very comfortable. |
