 A rich continental breakfast is included in the room price and is available from 8.30 to 10.30 am. Breakfast includes: coffee, tea, fresh milk, fresh bread, butter, two type of jams, cornflakes, müsli, yoghurt, fresh fruit and orange juice. Extra: bacon eggs* - ham eggs* - scrambled eggs* (*with cheese, salad and tomatoes). |
 The breakfast room with a special carpet on the floor, is usable also for your private tea breaks or your private dinner or for relax.
The main living room at the first floor, is the entrance room, a place where to chat, looking maps, meeting other guests...
The reading-TV room is a relaxing place where you can read a book of our Art Library or watch the latest world news on cable TV (service very sun available).
The B&B kitchen is usable upon request, if you have small children.
Large beautiful garden with patio, table and relaxing sport area, and a small swimming pool suitable mostly for children (5x5 mt.). |

 The nearest village is "Rosia" located at 1 km from us, there you will find 2 supermarkets, 3 bars, shops and one "Take Away". There are also few very good restaurants in the area within 5 minutes car drive from us, where you can taste some the best of Italian and Tuscan cousine (price range between 10 and 25 US$ full meal).
Il Colombaio B&B is located in a one of the most beautiful and enchanting areas of Tuscany, at about 15 km South-West of Siena, a town well known all over the world for the richness of its artistic, historical and cultural heritage and at about 60 km from Florence. In this area of Tuscany, named "Maremma" the landscape is not so sophisticated as in the Chianti area which is already too manipulated by the hand of man and its farming, and it leaves more space to the beauty and spontaneity of nature. The area is rich in historical attractions such as the San Galgano Abbey (1000 a.C.) or the Romanic cloister of Torri and many other medieval buildings.
At 35 km is located the medieval town of San Gimignano, which is well known for its 7 towers and for its beauty and has no need to be commented. At about 5 km east of "Il Colombaio" the incredible space of the Crete Senesi opens up. This is one of the most beautiful and fantastic landscapes of Italy, the medieval town of Asciano being its centre. If you are in this area the Hot Springs of Petriolo is a must. You can find complete thermal bathes and the possibility of experimenting also the free natural basins.
At about 3 km from us there flows the Merse River classified by WWF as one of the cleanest and untouched rivers of Italy, where you can really swim in ponds 50 mts wide and sun-bath totally relaxed. If you want to spend a full day at the Mediterranean Sea which is at about 50 km from here, you get there in about one hour drive. What else to say about this area, the beauty of the place is complete in itself, but be careful! you could loose yourself walking into the woods or riding on a mountain bike! |
