Monte Giovi, an unsoiled mountain on the outskirts of Florence where peace reigns supreme. Meadows and woods of oak, chestnut and pine and ancient stone buildings recall the peasant civilisation. Large natural springs cross fields and lawns and settle in little lakes nearby. Long walks into the shady woods, through clearings along path, lead you to cast a glance at the wastness of untouched nature. |
The Mugello area, home of ancient Medici splendours, offers the vestiges of great artists of our past (Giotto, Cimabue, Beato Angelico) and magnificient crafts whose origins date back to peasant traditions. |
The establishment provides a tour service through the towns, churches and museums of Mugello, also providing useful information on visiting nearby Florence.
The interior of the farm with its terracotta and solid walnut antique furniture, adds to the sense of serenity and well-being. |
The Trattoria, with its adequately equipped kitchen, together with the cooking methods such as wood roasting ovens, spit roasts, charcoal grills, all recreate the flavours and aromas of ancient traditional Tuscan cuisine, with all its borrowings from the Romagna region. The possibility of picking wild edible mushrooms, black and white truffles, naturally enhanced the very high quality of this gastronomic experience.
Agricolture is a fundamental part of the farm. Here, selective breeding of livestock in the natural state, large, regularly cleaned pastures, and vast field for haymaking and for planting forage are carefully maintained with the total absence of fertilisers and chemical manure. Particular care is taken with the production of natural honey and other hive's bio-products.
The meat and dairy products such as butter, yoghurt, ice cream, cheese and various characteristic products, are used both in the farm and Trattoria. The flavour of these products, of such naturally grown livestock takes one back in time as it enhances the flavour and the character of local tradition specialities, such as specially treated boar meat.
Half Board accomodations will take precedence over B&B. |
