I got lost trying to find Il Cigliere because I left the directions at home. But, I did have the her phone number and she helped me find my way. Checking in was simple and easy, and the house was spotlessly ready for us.

The pictures of Il Cigliere are great and that's why we chose it. When we arrived, we were amazed that the pictures don't do it justice. It's so much more beautiful when you stand in the living room and see the loving details of the decoration. It is a magical place and we will be returning. The cats were special and helped us to get over our homesickness for our own cats. Elena and Fabio were gracious as was Elena's father who brought us some home cured olives that have set the standard for how olives should taste.

The views were wonderful and should be stressed as well as the overall comfort of Il Cigliere. The privacy, the loving details, and the warmth of the owners make Il Cigliere a magic place to spend time. Our only regret was that we could not spend more time there.

If you are looking for a special place that is easy to get to, an easy drive to all of Tuscany, with wonderful people who take care of you, with amazing views, and a peaceful atmosphere, then Il Cigliere is that place. I would never hesitate to recommend it and have kept several brochures to pass on to friends. Thanks Elena and Fabio for a wonderful honeymoon!

It is a great place for anyone, but with a little girl we enjoyed it very much as there are two kids and they were very kind to my daughter.
Overall, it is great as we were the only guest, which is always the case. Il Cigliere is very well managed and has all the stuff you need.

The easiest of all the sites I searched with really excellant and accurate information about the properties concerned. There were a large number of places I would have been equally happy to stay and I will certainly look again at your site when planning my next break in Tuscany.
Elena and Fabio and for that matter their father and children were terrific hosts and we had a very good time in the area.

Easy, clearly documented.
The only downside of our holiday is that our rental car (Thrifty) was not all it should have been in the brakes department. You might consider a link to an approved Tuscan company(we hired in Bologna) because that would make car exchange a bit easier.

The road instrutions were clear but that didn't mean that we could follow them!
The car rental company gave us a map of 25km to the cm. This made it almost impossible to judge which exit off the autostrada we needed for Fi-Li-Pi (we had never been in Tuscany before and were not aware of this kind of road naming). Consequently we took the autostrada toward Pisa. Still a pleasant way in but it did make finding the house more difficult.

Emporer size beds were a real bonus and it wasn,t clear that Il Cigliere has 3 separate sun terraces so you can follow the sun all day if you wish to. It might be worth mentioning that the house is approached by a narrow track running alongside an olive grove.
One general comment: The maps from the rental car desks are next to useless, and don't offer any chance of exploring sdome of the fantastic small roads running throgh the olive groes and chianti vinyards (this place was created for connoiseurs of the Picnic).
The ONLY map series a serious auto-tourer should consider is the, ' Grande carta stradale d'Italia' from Touring Club Italiano with a scale of 1:200000. They are not easy to come by in most tourist spots so it would be a real help if you could either offer the series or provide a website link where the maps might be bought from overseas.
Getting ours on the third day transformed the hoiday.

Ease of use, value for money, very clear descriptions of what you are renting. I would go as far as to say this is the best hoiday service I have ever used. There were no surprises other than that everything really was as good as it sounded, and the people involved in our stay were generous and helpful beyond what is normal.

A luxurious getaway, ideal for 2, in a relaxed and beautiful part of Italy. Although Florence is a bit of a zoo driving-wise, We found driving into Pisa, Lucca, Sienna was very comfortably achieved. For Sienna it is worth studying the town centre map and parking at the Stadion.

The owners were VERY FRIENDLY and because my friends could not speak Italian they really did as much as possible to make them feel welcome and help them with whatever they wanted to know! They were GREAT!

I actually booked this accomodation for friends of ours in South Africa, but they were MORE than satisfied!!! They could not stop talking about the excellent hospitality and beautiful accomodation. We will definately recommend this place to all our friends and want to make use of them ourselves in the near future! Thank you for your wonderful website!!!!

The quality and inclusions of the accommodation were perfect. All linen supplied was crisp and fresh. A home away from home. Elena (hostess) was unobtrusive.

We felt like we imposed on their morning a bit (they did not make us feel that way at all, but we did not expect the check-out to be so informal). It is a very fair price for the quality of accommodation.

It's difficult to capture the feeling you get in the countryside and put that into words or pictures on a website. It's a better experience than what is portrayed on the site.
It is an excellent central location for touring Tuscany by car -- very easy to get to Florence, Siena, Pisa.

Cozy and unique. Beautiful and relaxing. Modern amenities in almost an old-fashioned/ quaint setting. Truly a home away from home in one of the most beautiful places on earth.

One minor problem with light switches. There were so many different lights and switches that it was confusing at times to know which one connected where.
Alena always had helpful suggestions and advice. She could even locate an Italian language teacher for us when we asked.

Comfortable, quiet and in an ideal country setting with close access to many small Tuscanny towns and to Floence only 35 km. away. The proprietors were friendly and helpbul, even taking us to a leather shop to find women's coats.

Unable to enjoy the hot tub, because there was never enough warm water to fill the tub.

Terrific and special. The owners were very helpful and accomodating. They even brought wood over to our house one night for the fireplace.

IT WAS VERY CONFUSING TO GET FROM THE AIRPORT ONTO THE FREEWAY WEST TO EMPOLI. THAT IS THE ONLY ADDITION I WOULD SUGGEST MAKING TO THE DIRECTIONS.
THE KITCHEN WAS VERY WELL OUTFITTED AND WE LOVED THE LOCATION.

THE LOCATION IS WONDERFUL. THE PROXIMITY TO CERRUTO GUIDI WAS VERY HANDY FOR SHOPPING FOR SMALL ITEMS.

i WOULD RECOMMEND THE ACTUAL PLACE ALTHOUGH IF THEIR DESIRE WAS TO VISIT PLACES IN SOUTHERN TUSCANY I WOULD SUGGEST THEY STAY ELSEWHERE. WE DID A LOT OF DRIVING.

Our host was very nice and helpful on our arrival. The villa looked amazing!

The villa was amazing! With the 95+ temperatures outside that week, without the air conditioning units on both floors, it would have been unbearably hot. Our host was incredibly nice and helpful with finding local restaurants/markets. We would love to come back and stay at Il Cigliere again

I was met by Fabio who allowed us to check in early and was very friendly. He spoke fluent English which was a real plus as my Italian is very bad.

The owners left for a ski trip and we had the place to ourselves. however, everyday their father, Lucciano would come by to feed the foour cats. He was a wonderful gentleman and we formed a friendship. He was so hospitible and helpful without being intrusive.

The only downside is that the house is not energy-efficient and if you use the central heat at all be expected to pay for it. Gas in Italy is expensive and even after turning the heat down all day while we were out and using the fireplce every night, I still paid about 11 Euros per day for heating.

A great place to experience Tuscany. Very close to any ammenities while maintaining a rural atmosphere.
