By car : Highway A1 Milano-Roma exit at Firenze Scandicci and after 100 mt take the motorway SGC FI-PI-LI direction Pisa-Livorno. Exit at Empoli ovest and turn rigth following direction for Fucecchio; after crossed the bridge on the river Arno, turn right following Vinci and Cerreto Guidi. After approx.1 Km you find indication on the left for Cerreto Guidi 3 Km, you start an uphill (if you look at your left you can see the red barn Il Cigliere at 200 mt); really at the top of the hill, before the road turn right, you turn left into a small secondary road between olive trees. Straight ahead 300 mt until a group of houses and keep left to a downhill of 100 mt. to the gate of Il Cigliere.
By train: from Florence S.Maria Novella station platform 1 or 2 you get train to Pisa and stop at Empoli railway station; from there you can get a taxi or catch a bus to Cerreto Guidi.
By airplane: Florence airport is 35 Km away, from there you can rent a car and drive through the motorway SGC Firenze-Pisa-Livorno and exit at Empoli ovest; the same from Pisa airport which is 40 Km away, you get the same motorway direction Florence and exit at Empoli ovest; from Pisa airport is very easy to catch a train to Florence and stopping at Empoli railway station. |
