 The Antica Residenza Cicogna is located in the heart of the historical city centre of Siena. From our property you can easily visit the entire city, but in a very short time you can reach the famous countryside and the little towns around Siena: Chianti near Siena (30 minutes), Crete (30 minutes), Monteriggioni and San Gimignano (45 minutes), Pienza (1 hour) and many other less know lovely places. In 1 hour and half you can also reach important city such as: Firenze, Pisa, Lucca and Arezzo. |
By car (from North):
From "Autostrada del Sole A1" take the exit Firenze Certosa and then take the "Superstrada/Raccordo Firenze-Siena" immediately on the right side of the motorway exit. It takes about 45 minutes to reach Siena. Take the exit "Siena Ovest" and follow signs to "Stadio". You have to take "via di Pescaia" (a large uphill road). When you are in the stadio area you can park your car in the public free parking or you can park in the Stadio fee-paying parking. Then, following the main street in the direction of the city centre you will find a big church called "San Domenico". This is the entrance of the historical city centre (you are now within the city walls) and you will find three streets: an uphill road on your left hand side called "via del Paradiso", a downhill road on your right hand side and a road in the middle called "via della Sapienza". Choose the one in the middle and walk straight on.At the end of the street just in front of you you will see a short uphill street (at the corner there is a pizzeria called Mister Pizza), turn right into "via delle Terme", after 10 meters on your left hand side you will find "Via dell Cavalletto", a little uphill street, take this and you will arrive in "Via dei Termini". We are at house number 67.
By car you can also arrive into "Via delle Terme" which leads you to a square called "Piazza Indipendenza". On your right hand side you can see the Rozzi theatre, in front of you there is a large and short street. On your left hand side there is a small uphill street. Take this. You are now in "via dei Termini", find the number 67."
By car (from South):
Exit the A1 at "Valdichiana", and take the "Raccordo Bettolle-Siena". It takes about 45 minutes to reach Siena. When you are near Siena follow directions to Florence and exit at "Siena Ovest"; then follow the above instructions.
By train:
- From the main Railway Station in Florence there are many trains and busses running to Siena.
- from the railway station of Siena the best way to reach us is by taxi, but you can also thake the first bus coming in the centre and stop at Piazza Gramsci bus stop. |
