Travellers Reviews

The information on how to get there had some obvious English language mistakes which made it a little confusing. ... The Villa was stylish and comfortable and the facilites were very good. What made our stay so enjoyable was the staff who were attentive, they anticipated our needs and really made sure we enjoyed our stay. The food at the Villa was delicious and the service was excellent. ... The staff, and the villa manager in particular, are well organised, provide personal service and gave us a bottle of wine as a farewell which we really appreciated. ... Villa Cennina is a stylish and comfortable villa with lovely views over the beautiful Tuscan landscape. It is well located for exploring towns in the region with good proximity to Siena. The villa manager and staff are friendly and the service standards are excellent. I highly recommend a stay at Villa Cennina... for a week if you can fit into your travel plans.

Our friends and my wife and I had a wonderful two days at Villa Cennina. Yuri and Philipa were very professional and gave us as good service as we have gotten anywhere. It was very personalized and the food was excellent. We look forward to our stay in June.

We were greeted in a very friendly manner by Yuri. We had taken the train from Rome that day and arrived at 1:00 p.m. He was very gracious, asked if we wanted lunch and showed us around the Villa. ... Staying at Villa Cennina was the highlight of our trip to Italy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Yuri is the most gracioius host we have ever encountered. He went above and beyond in making us feel comfortable and welcome. The Villa is in a great location for taking day trips and coming back for a nice dinner if desired. The grounds are beautiful. The meals in the dining room are excellent. We can't say enough about it. ... Checking out was very quick. We got a complete accounting of our expenses. Yuri and the staff were very helpful with our baggage, etc. ... Perhaps you should include something about Yuri and Angelo. ... We have been describing Villa Cennina as a real treasure. Very charming, well situated, nice and peaceful, a good place to unwind, excellent meals, wonderful atmosphere, you feel like you are coming home in the evening after a day of touring.... or you could unwind at the Villa by the pool or in the lovely common rooms...

It wouldn't matter how clear the driving instructions to Villa Cennina might be, it's virtually impossible to find unless you know where you are going! Don't try to find it in the dark!!!
This is okay, however, because once you do find it, you won't regret having had to hunt for it and getting lost a couple of times in the process. Frankly, I hope the instuctions stay confusing, because we wouldn't want Villa Cennina to get too popular since we intend to go back there often, and I want to make sure there is a room available for us when we do!!!
... The staff couldn't be friendlier, and couldn't be more helpful in arranging sctivities like horseback riding, special dinners for 10-year old birthday girls, and basically whatever you ask for.
Even the dog!!!!! Birba will befriend you, and you won't want to leave her!!! The chef is fabulous, even if he won't divulge his culinary secrets.

The staff at Villa Cennina were wonderful. ... The mountain bikes, scooters, horseback riding, cooking lessons, and wine & olive tastings were not available at all. The grounds and exterior of the buildings were beautiful. The pool area is gorgeous and one can really enjoy walking on the grounds as well...its very peaceful and quiet. The rooms however are VERY small and modest although extremely clean. I would describe them as convent style. Definitely not hotel style or any luxury at all. ... Good place to get away for relaxation...but don't count on luxury. The staff is BEYOND helpful! They were a pleasure to be around. The chef is amazing and if you're lucky...he'll cook for you whatever you want!

The online directions are only useful when arriving from the north (from Siena). There are no explanations how to find the Hotel when arriving from the south. We were lucky that we found it at all. ... Very nice place, quiet, spacious, good to relax, very close to Siena, good breakfast

Overall - it was a great experience. ... The only real comment I have is about the bathrooms - they are tiny and this should have been noted in the description. ... Charming, clean, small but nice rooms. Very tiny bathrooms that flood easily when taking a shower. Staff is very friendly and accomodating. Nice pool and grounds. The food is very good but it's a bit pricey - even for Tuscany.
