We turned up 2 hours early and still managed to check in before reception was officially open.

The residence area was much larger and spacious than expected. The pool was a nice distance away from the accomodation resulting lovely quiet rooms. There was lots of different places to sit and enjoy the views or relax - the pool, the green garden, the balocony area, the pool, or even just outside your room. The rooms were also much more spacious than expected.

We checked out a day early to catch our flight. There was a very relax atmosphere about checking out - very easy and no hassle.

Probably a good idea to have a car if you are planning to go anywhere out of the residence as public transport prehaps not as frequent as excepted. Only get 1 toilet roll!
Beautiful views - of the sunsets, - Siena in the distance, and the wonderful countryside. Also see wild boar!

Absolutely wonderful. Great value for money. Perfect location in typical Tuscan countryside. A wonderful place to relax. Go for two weeks (not just one) if you can.

The driving directions were confusing - we got lost trying to find the highway towards the hotel - even with a map. It would have been helpful if they provided additional information as to which direction we needed to drive towards Ponte a Bozzone, e.g 'direction Gaiole in Chianti' or 'direction Montevarchi'. It's not the hotel's fault - the signs in Sienna are terrible!

Beautiful surroundings and view. Large room. Good for families and groups. Good location for touring and visiting Sienna and the Tuscan countryside.

They have a small pen of animals on the property, which is good for children (as well as adults). Also, the rooms are totally self-sufficient so you need to bring toilet paper, cleaning supplies, hair dryer, etc.

We expected new towels and linen and a weekly cleaning as it was discribed on the web site.
At the end of our vacation we got to know that we have to demand this services.
Perhaps it was a simple misunderstanding.

We really spend a great time in the Residence Fattoria di Catignano. Everybody was very friendly and the property extremly impressive.
At least you should note that the flat does not have so much equipment in the kitchen.

we instructions were not thorough enough and we got lost as a consequence we were over an hour late checking in. however, we were met in a very friendly and professional manner.
The villa we stayed in was very spacious and lovely....for the 3 nights we had it although a 'fully equipped kitchen' to us would mean an oven or microwave and an electric jug to boil water.
Our problem was that we were promised two standard double rooms for the last night...which we got but the worst rooms I have ever experienced in my life. so small we could hardly get our luggage in, absolutely smely of smoke in the room as well as the curtains and bedding which gave us a headache, one bedroom had a tiny stand up shower - very inadequate and for ony about 30 euro less a night we were disgusted. I suggest you do not recommend any stadard double bedrooms, only the villas. The pool was fantastic!!!

laundry facilities inadequate....only could use a washing machine between 4 - 8 pm and that machine took about 2 hours to complete the cycle so hardly anyone could get their washing done, they need to invest in a couple of machines for customer use

We have been in the Fattoria di Catignano for the 3rd time already and we will for sure go there again !

The housekeeper was working anywhere in the Fattoria .. nobody was at the reception
that saturday morning for checking out..
so we left they key at the reception . .
but there are no formalities neccessary for checking out.

A wonderful place in Chianti- if one like ' old ' buildings , with an old garden and a fantastic atmosphere..
Very close to Siena..and a good starting point for touring thru the Chianti

Our appartment was a bit separated from the property, due to it's location.
The property is stated to be child friendly, but regarding our appartment, I do not agree with that. The terras was very close to the road and there was no separation (we could not leave our two-and-a-half year old son alone there). Furthermore, the only play-good available was a swing, which was broken.
One other thing I would like to mention was that the garden pertaining to our appartment (Type B), was not very well maintained and no equipment with relax chairs available.

The property is fine and with an excellent location, near to Siena. It is also suited for relaxing days at the swimming pool. However, I think that there are quite some differences between the appartments (regarding location, not regarding equipment)and depending on the appartment, satisfaction is bigger or less.

We arrived very late on the 5th, 2330 hrs. Alexandro was very accomodating with our late arrival.

The property looked well maintained, and neat. Outdoor picnic area was great for our family of 23 to congregate. When we return we would like to stay in one of the ground floor villas.

I would suggest giving directions from Siena (the city center) to your facility...we were lost for almost an hour, just trying to find the correct road to take us out there. We had to go back to the Rental Car Company to ask for better directions.

I would suggest putting fans and/or screens on the window.
It was so incredibly hot, and we had to choose between either keeping the windows open and allowing bugs in the room, or close the windows and suffer the heat.

A lovely villa with beautifully kept grounds. The views were spectacular and the people were very friendly.
I was extremely impressed with the grounds and the look/architecture of the buildings.

My only concern was that our apt was up, up, up. One member of our party has heart problem so we were a bit more aware. Had my mom and her bad hip been with us, I would have been concerned. You might want to note for that specific apt, the number of steps involved.

It's a bit confusing because the first turn into the property (the gated entrance) is not the proper entrance for check in. The second entrance into the property is. Might be worth mentioning in your driving instructions.

Our stay was 2 weeks. Web stated weekly cleaning AND final cleaning included. There is no weekly cleaning. Also, (perhaps because we are American) we were surprised that toilet paper and other basic items such as dish soap were not provided.

Actually maps out of Siena could be clearer to English speakers. Would hate to try and find that place at night.

Very off-season so that had something to do with facilities. However we specifically requested a fireplace, which our room had, but there was no firewood. Staff tried to be helpful in an Italian sort of way. Eventually we solved the problem ourselves. Staff is on property limited hours per day so if something goes wrong I don't know what you do. Once again this was very off-season.

Relative to what we were paying for small hotel rooms in the cities this was a great value and the property, while pleasantly decaying, is a great place to holiday, assuming you have a rental car and a passel of maps.

Very secluded and quiet. Extremely convenient to Siena - 15 minutes to historical center. Why stay in small room in city when you can have your own vacation cottage in the country? Cooking facilities excellent. Could easily wile away a week there. Should possibly specify the desposables one should bring, or supply them - like dishwashing soap and paper towels for instance. People would clean and they would have less to do if they did. Supply firewood. make sure all electrical is working.

Beautiful decaying Villa and farm in Chianti countryside very convenient to Siena. Easy to day trip to any of the mountain towns of Tuscany or Chianti wine country. Wonderful place to come home to and cook up the day's purchases. Great place to come with friends and rent a few rooms. Either tour everyday or just stay and relax and read or hang out by the pool. Very relaxing and contemplative place. Very satisfied with experience (except for the firewood).

the accommodation was wonderful. However, a few points that I feel should be made are as follows:
The periods in which the reception was available to provide assistance was very innadaquate.
2. The property stated that dinner or evening meals would be available. The cook decided to have a vacation for the period of our holiday and we were not informed until we arrived.

We found the directions a little bit difficult to follow and spent about 1 hour driving around Sienna trying to find the right road. Once we found the road, the directions to the property were fine.

Although we knew the property was self catering, we were surprised that not even the most basic items were supplied such as matches to light the oven and a cloth and detergent to clean dishes. The property is not closely located to shops and we were travelling around so had to buy these items especially and then throw them out at the end.

Availability of home cooked dinner provided by the housekeeper. We had a delicious meal in their house.
I think it should be made clearer on the website the difference between the farm and the villa. We were recommended to stay at the villa but told only accommodation at the farm was available. It turned out that most of the villa seemed empty.

we arrived by 7 p.m. & no one was there (except our friends who convinced the caretakers to give them our key). Reception desk was closed, but the sign stated that they were open until 8p.m. !
