 Villa di Catignano
The villa was built at the end of 17th century by the ancestor of the current proprietors, Quinto Settano, pseudonym of Monsignor Lodovico Sergardi, a writer and a lover of the arts. The history of the borough can be traced to 1500 when it was called Clatinianum and even then was the property of the Sergardi family. Nowadays the villa, overlooking a beautiful Italian garden, decorated with statues representing the four seasons, with the medieval towers of Siena in the distance, welcomes guests who appreciate historical sites with evocative atmospheres. |
 The Villa is divided into large apartments, the most evocative ones can be reached walking through the large entrance hall dominated by the coat of arms of the Sergardi family and their motto "Experts fidelem". The lemon trees, vases of geraniums all around the villa and the Arcadian atmosphere have for centuries been a frame to the tradition of a family of notaries and lovers of literature and art. We are certain that the peace and serenity of the villa will be something that our guests will take away with them. |
 The old "Tinaia", completely restored with cap vaults and terracotta tiles, can hold up to a hundred and twenty people for weddings, meetings and dinner parties with catering service. From the Tinaia it is possible to reach a large terrace and guests can also make use of a wide external area including a beautiful and charming Italian garden.
