Villa "Castrum" is situated among vineyards, olive groves and woods on the watershed of the Elsa and Pesa Valley in the Chianti area between Florence and Siena. Villa "Castrum" is a luxurious residence which was originally part of the Castle of Cortine before the year Ten hundred and the last known reference is mentioned in a document in 1269.

It is possible that parts of its foundations make up the impressionable walls of Villa's underground passages: the fascination of the eternal youth of medieval Tuscany lies in thousands of secrets like these. It is also said that the villa conceals a few ancient wells; and it also believed that these same foundations of the castle walls go back to the Etruscan period in whose name the memory is conserved in the nearby small village of Olena. This residence in addition to a beautiful grand piano, boasts a fresco painted in the inimitable style of the artist Rapisardi who lived there at one time.

All the selected fabrics and the presence of antique beautiful furniture which adorns the villa show that the building has been furnished with quality and good taste on the part of the owner to recreate the atmosphere and the ambience of long ago. This large restored villa which has a marvellous view on the green hills of Chianti, also offers exclusive gardens, a private swimming pool complete with sun loungers and shades and a fully equipped lawn area outside dining and relaxing.
