Antonio welcomed us at the hotel, took care of our bags, explained the facilities of the room and the castle and then welcomed us for a few glasses of white wine by the pool area.

This was one of the highlights of our entire European vacation of France and Italy. The castle is amazing and Salvatore and Antonio are the perfect hosts. We had dinner at the castle one night which was fantastic, their breakfasts were the best we had for our whole trip and their advice and directions were fantastic!!!! Cannot say enough about how wonderful a time we had exploring Tuscany from Castle del Serre

I would recommend it without hesitation, a very pretty, romantic place that is second to none. The development they are doing on site will make this a mind blowing venue, but it is already world class

Owners were wonderful. Extremely helpful. The best stay I ever had ANYWHERE in my thirty years of traveling to 6 countries. The hospitality that my wife and I were showed can not be compared. Beautiful outdoor kitchen/patio was exquisite while overlooking the midevil bell tower. Restaurant recommendations were excellent and directions for day trips were perfect!This place is only 45 minutes from at least 5 georgous hill towns. There are enough restaurants within 15 minutes of this castle that a family visiting for a week would never eat at the same place twice. Owners speak perfect english and really understand the needs of their guests. The grounds are immaculate, postcard-like. This gem is only going to get better with the mulimillion dollar restoration of the 14th century castle, wine cellar, tennis courts, gardens, restaurant/club. Owner gave my wife and I a private tour on our last day. Some of the new facilities will be done in the Fall. Rome is only two hours away and Florence is about one hour.

This was our first vacation in Italy. While we travelled to many locations, Castello delle Serre was hands down the best accommodation. Salvatore, Tony and Joe were absolutely fantastic!! The place was actually better than than your photos.We would highly recommend Castello delle Serre to anyone thinking of touring the Tuscany region.

The owners, Salvatore and Antonio, were wonderful hosts, we felt very welcome and comfortable. They were very helpful with tourist questions and directions; The optional dinner they served was the best meal my family had while on vacation in Italy. The castle and grounds are beautiful and nicely kept. It was our best experience in Italy. We will return there some day!

If you are lucky enough to have a dinner there, it is an experience you will never forget. We had no idea when we signed up for the fixed menu one night, that we were in for a treat we would never forget. Our family will be talking about that night for years to come.

You feel more like part of a family than a guest. Everyone is made to feel special. Usually, when it is time to leave, I am ready. This is the one place I can honestly say I wanted to cry when it was time to go.

We arrived early and Salvatore was more than accomodating! He checked us in to an upgraded room for free, gave us a tour of the castle, provided directions and gave us recommendations for our daytrip to Assisi. Additionally, Salvatore made dinner reservations for us that night and a wine tasting tour the following day.

Salvatore spent nine years restoring the castle and did not miss one detail. The rooms were the cleanest of our entire trip and the beds were comfortable.

We arrived at the Castle and Salvatore greeted us with open arms. He was above and beyond the most welcoming and accomodating host during our trip to Italy. What makes Castelle delle Serra so spectacular are two things, 1. Salvatore, who was born in Italy but spent many years in the US. Having lived in both the US and Italy gives him the ability to understand the foreign traveler's needs including what activities to do, cities to see and what tourists 'traps' to stay away from. Salvatore has a cheat sheet for many day-trip cities that includes directions, wineries, restaurants, where to park, etc. Additionally, his heritage gives him the ability to provide a cultural italian experience from a local residents perspective. Other hosts of B&B's that we stayed at had either one or the other. Salvtore knew what was important to us to see in Italy and made great recommendations 2. The restored Castle is absolutely magnificent! We were very tempted to stay the rest of the trip at the Castle, but we could not cancel our reservations in Rome. We would have liked to stay longer and others at the castle did extend their stay. If you can get a reservation here, it will be the best part of your trip to Italy. We will go back to see the new Tavern and have Salvatore's dinner at the poolside cafe. This place is the real deal!

The accomodations were architecturally interesting and excellent, the staff went beyond the norm to be friendly and helpful with planning daytrips or other needs. The atomosphere was conducive to meeting other guests. All around a first class bed and breakfast that I highly recommend to others.

It was great! Having the option to laze around the pool or follow Salvatore's tips for visiting the surrounding villages or going antique hunting was exactly what we wanted. The staff was attentive to our needs and always so pleasant and helpful.
The pool with the bar, the elegant patio with several seating area were perfect to admire Tuscan sunsets while enjoying a nice glass of wine. Our room was stunning and very spacious and the bathroom was very modern and clean with an old world charm.

We were greeted as if we were long friends. We arrived a little early (we were so anxious to see what had been promised on this website) and our room was not quite ready. Our luggage was swiftly carried to our room and we were served a delicious glass wine in the library, while we waited. Just the beginning of what was a wonderful stay.

We loved staying at Castello delle Serre. I would like to say that it was the experience of a lifetime, except that we have made it a goal to return, which would make it 2 experiences of a lifetime. Salvatore Gangale is passionate about his castle and making people feel welcome in his 'home'.
