Facilities within the Property

Staying at the Castelletto is like staying in a private home, in an elegant setting, surrounded by beautiful and precious objects of art. Many common spaces may be enjoyed by the guests who are also free of helping themselves at the open bar at the first floor. The garden, not in continuity with the main hotel building, is located at a short distance and can be easily reached with a few steps.

There the guests can find a small sauna, the pool and the fitness room with an indoor hot tub overlooking the Ambra valley, that offers an unspoilt gorgeous landscape. Guests may enjoy elegantly furnished rooms fully equipped with all modern comforts as well as making use of the common living rooms, where they may talk, listen to music or simply rest amidst the antique furniture, precious paintings and other works of art from the owners' private collections.

Outdoors they may go to the private park where the swimming pool and the fitness room overlook the beautiful valley. As part of the family atmospheres of the Castelletto guests are free to help themselves not only to the rich buffet breakfast, but also to drinks and snacks available in the private rooms' minibar as well as in the main living rooms. The hotel staff is always willing to help in order to organize wine tours, cooking classes or any type of activities, such as horse or bike riding, visits to the outlets of the Italian major fashion designers, massages and whatever else is possible.

There is no restaurant in the hotel, but this may give guests an extra incentive to discover the many small trattorie serving typical Tuscan cuisine and local wines that are hidden in near townsand villages. Those with a more refined palate will have the opportunity to visit the more famous and elegant restaurants of the area to verify the quality of their gourmet cuisine. Located at the southeastern edge of the Chianti, in the heart of Tuscany, the Valdambra has miraculously conserved the beauty and simplicity of its territory. The Castelletto participates in the daily life of the smallfarming village of Montebenichi, perched upona hill top, immersed in one of the most magnificent and uncontaminated natural environments in Tuscany. A landscape of woods, vineyards and olive groves scattered with tiny villages and elegant castles surround the village on all sides. To the south one can see the fascinating landscape of the "Crete" and in the backdrop the shadow of mount Amiata. The most celebrated cities of art in Tuscany such as Siena, Arezzo, Cortona, San Gimignano, Montepulciano, Pienza, and Montalcino as well as many less famous but equally fascinating attractions such as Lucignano, Sant'Antimo, Monte Oliveto Maggiore, San Galgano, Bagno Vignoni and many others are not far from the Castelletto. Also close by are the thermal baths of Rapolano.fed by natural hot springs. Montebenichi itself, though tiny and unknown to most, still conserves fascinating testimonial of its ancient past, when in the XII and XVI centuries it played the important role of a strategic fortress for the defense of both Florence and Siena at different times during the history of the long wars between the two territories. "Capitan Goro" Stendardi, heroic mercenary captain under the command of Francesco Ferrucci during the battle of Gavignana in 1530, was born and lived in Montebenichi.
