As we were going to arrive later than previously expected we called the hotel to advise them of this. One of the staff (Max) very kindly agreed to stay on an hour past his allocated shift to meet us as he advised he preferred to welcome guests personally. We were really impressed with this level of service! We were even offered a glass of locally produced wine on our arrival which was a wonderful surprise. ... Fabulous location and well-appointed property with all you would expect from a quality place. Excellent additional information about the local area is available from the friendly, helpful staff. ... There are a number of very macabre pieces of artwork on the walls which could be deemed quite offensive; particularly those in the dining room areas depicting black people serving up the severed heads of white people on platters, torture vistims and so on. A review of the gust book showed that many of the guests have found these quite inappropriate as did we. ... Fabulous find in a stunning location - pity about the poor choice of artwork.

We were taken to our apartment but did not get any other information about the facilities. ... We were certainly left in peace by the staff - there was no-one at the reception during the weekend. This was in a way nice and not a big problem. ... The quality of water in the swimming pool did not seem very inviting (there were small worms in the water which itself was not very clear). We swam in it without any problems though. ... Charming and quiet accomodation in a stunning location. The nearest restaurant, L'Alto Chianti, is highly recommended.
