In the "Val di Cecina": You can see the landscape scattered with fortifications on the highest ranges, and also villages, parish churches and cottages. The archaeological artifacts can be found in cities of art such as Volterra. In the country behind Cecina there are three peculiar Medieval villages: Casale Marittimo, Guardistallo and Montesudaio, surrounded by the Wine Road of the Etruscan Coast with its rare DOC wines. A few kilometres away we can find the village of Bolgheri with its vineyards (Sassicaia and Ornellaia) and Castagneto Carducci. This tremendous heritage is immersed in an assorted landscape that ranges from the archetypal countryside with rows of cypresses, olive groves and vineyards to the soft hills coloured variously by the seasons. And finally the peculiar landscape of the geothermic area, characterised by a close net of hot springs, the high mountain ranges where the River Cecina originates. In this environment - the areas of Berignone and Monterufoli - there is are paths that will lead you to discover its natural beauty.
