We arrived late and Valentina was still waiting for us and took us right to our apartment. She was very welcoming and made us feel at home right from the beginning. ... Casa Verragoli was a home away from home. It was so comfortable and had all the luxuries of home. ... They not only were very organized with our check out but on our last night, they even came to personnaly say good bye to us! ... Fantastic place! We loved Tuscany and will definitely return and next time we won't have to look for a place to stay as we will always return to Casa Verragoli. Valentina and her family are wonderful people and made our stay very memorable. We are thankful that we stayed there & met such great people.
Thank you!

It was only the very last part of the directions that were a little difficult to see where to go, ie once we were on the il forteto farm, but we asked in the shop and the woman there knew someone at the house was expecting us. She phoned through and although we were a little early we were made very welcome immediately. ... The website pictures and description were very clear but it can't beat the real thing ... smooth, stress free ... the website seems pretty comprehensive ... We would definitely recommend this accommodation to a friend. It has everything for a comfortable stay plus a totally relaxed atmosphere, the views are superb, including framed sunsets, and there is easy access to Florence by train from next village. The house is half way up a hill, quite steep even by car but only about 20mins on foot to farm shop at bottom.(a bit more on the way back up) Maybe not for the unfit without transport ! It is really worth walking up to top of the hill, butterflies and other flora and fauna abundant, marked trails to follow and very friendly locals. The tour of the farm and cheese production is really informative and mouthwatering and it's certainly worth buying the produce in the shop. Eveyone involved seems very friendly and happy to help especially Valentina, our main point of contact.

I think on the website you will need to give more specific directions like how many kms to pontasieve, how many kms from pontasieve to Rufina and Dicomano and after exiting Dicomano how many kms to Al Forteto sign
this will help a lot. ... The staff made us feel at home. The breakfast they serve was always fresh from the bakery (Bottega). The staff was extremely helpful and gave us a tour of the farm free of charge. They went out of their way to help us whenever possible. ... I would recommend anyone to stay there. THE BEST in TUSCANY! ... Positive 1) The staff made us feel at home. The staff was extremely helpful and gave us a tour of the farm free of charge. They went out of their way to help us whenever possible. 2) The breakfast they serve was always fresh from the bakery (Bottega). 3) good recommendations to restaurants and vineyard 4) convenient because of their own grocery store ... THE BEST IN TUSCANY! will not be disappointed

The directions were good upto the point where we left the main road from then on in was a little confusing. Although there was noone on site when we arrived (we were 1 hour early) someone arrived within 5 minutes and was very polite and helpful. ... The accommodation was excellant, much better than I expected and very good value. There was breakfast included with the rooms which was not stated on the web site. ... The included breakfast should be stated. We had already brought food before we found out. A better discription of items available from the farm shop would again be helpful we shopped at local supermarkets only to find later that we could have pruchased most things on site. ... Stunning. Perfect situation, excellant views, clean and well maintained accomodation. Lovely country, lovely people I would recommend Agriturismo Casa Verragoli to anyone. Perfect.

We arrived by train, so didn't use the directions; there wasn't a receptionist-- the owners' daughter picked us up at the station. ... The owners of this property are exceedingly gracious! The apartment was farther from the store and bus than described-- probably closer to 5 or 6 km. than 1, so we were unable to walk to either place. However, the folks there were always more than willing to drive us anywhere we wanted to go, inc. the train, bus or store. In fact, he took us sightseeing and wouldn't even let us pay the entry fee. The only real drawback was not having a phone. These are wonderful people, and with a phone or car this would be an unbelievable bargain! ... Note the lack of phone and distance the apartment is from the store and bus stop. You might add they provide excellent transportation, if you can contact them! Buses and trains are very convenient when you get to them. ... An apartment with a wonderful view of the most beautiful part of Tuscany. It is rural, but close to Dicomano, which is served by several trains and buses a day. It is a farm owned by wonderful people anxious to share their bounty with visitors. Not having a phone was a little inconvenient, although there was one available at the store on the premises. The store was not withing walking distance, but the owners were willing to set up a schedule for transporting us to where we wanted to go each day, at no charge. The apartment was more reasonable and spacious by far than hotel rooms in the cities; it was peaceful and just lovely.

Casa Verragoli is absolutely beautiful, perfect setting, fantastic staff, great apartment and superb food from the farm shop. Our weekend stay there was the highlight of our week long stay in Tuscany and somewhere I would not hesitate to return to or recommend.

There should be a sign in the main road stating 'Casa Verragoli' and not only inside the 'il fortetto' ... Very nice and quiet location. ... You definately need a car (or any other private trasportation mean) in order to reach the property of 'Casa Verragoli' ... A wonderful hotel hidden in nature with amazing view.

There were some problems caused by lost luggage at the airport. Because of this, we were a little late in arriving and did not have the exact knowledge where to get the keys to the apartment. This was however only a slight delay. ... The staff frendliness was just great and they made their best to provide even more services than expected. The quality of the premises and equipment was appreciated (washing machine, coffee, games, travel brochures, fireplace etc). The website looked already good and matched the actual property. ... The 'farm shop' sounds a little too modest - we did not quite expect a well-equipped, large quality product market! Good selection of own production, gluten-free and fair-trade products. ... Peaceful Tuscany country farmhouse for relaxation and enjoying the countryside.

Whilst the accommodation was clean and well presented and very close to our expectation a few simple additions would have made it a much more enjoyable stay. We did not realise the property was so isolated and that there would not be any locals around that we could ask for help which made our stay somewhat difficult. With regards to the accomodation itself, they did not cater for visitors from non european backgrounds, e.g. there was no kettle/electric jug or toaster in the kitchen or coffee mugs or tea cups (only expresso). There was also no instructions for the hot water system in english which meant we where without hot water nearly 2 days thinking it was on a timer or we had accidently turned it off (it was actually out of order). We also did not know how to operate the washing machine. ... Whilst the property was as depicted on the website, the website was somewhat misleading as the bakery etc was a couple of klm's down a dirt track not actually where we where staying which was very isolated. ... The isolation - whilst it was beautiful and we enjoyed our stay it is not what we expected. ... Very clean, tidy and peaceful set in beautiful countryside, however, very isolated at the end of a dirt track approx 3 klm's long. Nearly impossible to make yourself understood with the locals and to find your way around was also difficult as the road signs are very unclear. However, we did it and enjoyed ourselves (definitely take an english - italian dictionary as we would not have coped without one)

The people at Casa Verragoli were nice, however it was a little difficult to track Angela down to let us in the apartment because of the language barrier. There wasn't a receptionist/check-in desk, etc. ... We LOVED staying at Casa Verragoli. It was wonderful!!! Again, my only comment is that we had to track down Angela the night before we were going to check out so that we could pay. I loved the fact that we stayed there and were 'left alone', but I wish they were more accessible when we needed them. ... Again, only problem is that we had to track Angela down to check out. ... A wonderful farmhouse in the middle of the Mugello valley. Secluded and quiet...just perfect for a week in Tuscany.

We had to announce our arrival at the cooperativa's supermarket where English is somewhat a problem. The existance of the lodging house didn't seem clear to the employees of the supermarket we talked to. ... There was not really 'staff' - only breakfast was brought in in the morning. All other activities published on the website (horse riding) seems unexistant. There was nobody who could help us out with the horseriding. ... The employees of the supermarket got into panic when we announced that we would like to pay for our stay at the house. It took them about an hour to get somebody there that understood what it was about.
