 The "Verragoli's farm holiday" is situated on the high point of the farm, at an altitude of 339m above sea level, between green pastures, olive trees and age old chestnut woods. Near the house there is a small artificial lake for the watering of cows and horses. |
The farm holiday Verragoli is part of the large farm holding "Il Forteto". The agricultural co-operative "Il Forteto" was founded in 1977 and it is located in the Mugello Valley in Tuscany, between the council areas of Vicchio and Dicomano. |
In its 452 hectares, over half of which is wooded, fruit and animal fodder is grown. The grounds are cultivated with biological methods. "Il Forteto" is famous for its cheese production and in fact are the biggest exporter of the fabulous sheeps milk cheese, Pecorino Toscano D.O.P. (Denomination of Origin Protected). |
Within the farm there are many other typical Tuscan products produced by the members of the co-operativel. Locally made produce such as wine, olive oil and cheeses. There is a garden centre with a wealth of flowers, plants, fruit-trees, handmade terracotta pots and products for garden care on offer. |
