Profile |
The estate extends in a rich and fertile plain immersed in the uneven landscape of the Valdichiana hills (between Siena and Arezzo) overlooked by the ancient castles of Lucignano, Scrofiano, Farnetell, Sinalunga and Rigomagno. This place was once scene of many bloody battles to get control over the area between people from Arezzo and Siena. |
Nowdays this piece of land is a touristic attraction thanks to a town and a landscape planning that has kept its original structure. The farmhouse has 15 hectars of sown land with maize and wheat plus 700 square metres of green area fenced off all around the cottage. |
Besides the two apartments, the farmhouse consists of the main building where the owners live, an annexed farm used as a covered parking, the reception, a laundry and outbuildings used as depot of farm machinery and tools, accessible by a separated entrance.

The cottage has stone and brick walls, all cleaned and stuccot during the renovation that gave back the ancient beauty to vaults, arches, the old porch oven in the main building, the marble staircase and to the stony window sills. The roof has been completely rebuilt using original tiles. |
Also original chestnut beams have been used, just few in bad condiction have been replaced by new ones of the same material. The original frames have been lost, but the new ones have the same characteristics. There is a comfortable drive leading up to the cottage and an iron gate operated by remote control, placed in a square just in front of the main staircase. Also the fence (wall and pillars) is made of bricks and stones. |
