The guests can visit all the nice stone villages of the Garfagnana and taste the food specialities like the excellent cold cuts, cheeses, products made of chestnut flour. Do not miss the fantastic farro soup. Many typical restaurants are easily accessible from Pruneta di Sopra.
One kilometer from Pruneta there's the pulsing heart of Garfagnana: Castelnuovo Garfagnana; it's a little lovely town with ancient town walls in which you can find each kind of shops. Do not miss the local market on each Thursday. In summer, there are many folk events like "sagras" and festivals in and near Castelnuovo Garfagnana. Near Castelnuovo there are many sport opportunities like fishing (many natural and man-built lakes available), biking, trekking, bowling, Kayak, golf...

You also have to visit Barga, a lovely town, positioned on a sunny hill with a pretty panorama and with a romantic charming church (the Duomo) in the higher part of it. Barga has deep cultural traditions: there lived one of the most famous Italian poets, Giovanni Pascoli. You can visit his villa in Castelvecchio Pascoli, a quarter near Barga.
The little art jewel of Lucca, known as the "100 churches town" and for its medieval walls, is 40 minutes far from Garfagnana.
In 1 hour and half you reach Pisa, a university town full of young students and famous monuments (first, visit "piazza dei miracoli" with its incredible leaning tower).
You can go one day to "Versilia" (Viareggio, Forte dei Marmi, Pietrasanta ...) a very famous area for its beaches (most of them are private), for the nightlife: you can find there the most important 60's and 70's discos of Tuscany (first of them: the "Capannina").
