"La Casa Colonica" is situated in a little village called "Vernazzano" near to the motorway that goes from Perugia to Siena. Due to its privileged position, the farmhouse is ideal for those who wish to have both a cultural and relaxing holiday. Some of the most important artistic and cultural centres of Tuscany and Umbria are within easy reach: Perugia, Assisi, Spoleto, Gubbio, Siena, Florence, Cortona and many other smaller places rich in history, culture and art.

In this carefully restored farmhouse, amidst vineyards and century-old olive groves, guests will find the ideal environment for a healthy and complete relaxation. The apartments have recently been renovated with care and attention to detail so as to preserve the antique feel and taste of old farmhouses.

In the garden there are two swimming pools for the guests' use, one for adults (14X6 mt.) and a round pool for children up to four years old, situated in the middle of a wide open space surrounded by an exclusive natural setting. To lovers of nature the area around the farmhouse offers many paths for outings by foot, on mountain bike (it is possible to rent mountain bikes inside the farm) or on horseback, following tracks of bygone days immersed in the breathtaking landscapes of the green Umbrian hill.

The farmhouse has an inviting family atmosphere, as our is a family run concern where each member of the family have their own responsibilities, due to the local products available such as marmalades and jams, oil, Tuscan and Umbrian wines, as well as the nearby farm where poultry is bred and food products are made. Moreover, we have produced extra virgin olive oil from organically grown olives, since 1960.

"The hamlet of Vernazzano, once an Etruscan dwelling place, was inhabited by poor fishermen and woodcutters, when it took its place in history due to Hannibal, who in June 217 B.C. defeated the Roman army led by the consul Caio Flaminio. The Battle of Trasimeno, is relived in a theatrical event which recreates the atmosphere and climate present in all war-type situations, of every period, the spectators find themselves participating in the action of the story being narrated. An adventure tour, by bus and on foot, full of emotion and theatrical sensations, in which the spectator, by interacting with the actors, become stars of the show. An enjoyable experience which can easily involve spectators of all nationalities, in fact, the actors express themselves in many languages.
