 It is located in the heart of Tuscany exactly halfway between Florence (35 Km far) and Siena (40 Km far) and at only one hour's drive from Pisa and the sea. The world famous medieval town of San Gimignano is only 18 Km far away and Certaldo, birthplace of the medieval writer Givanni Boccaccio, is only 10 minutes' drive. The centre of Firenze is easily reachable by train, the train station being in Certaldo with several trains leaving to the city almost at every hour. |
 The house dates back to the 18th century and used to be part of a bigger estate surronded by vineyards and olive trees. It was completely restored in 1990 mainting its original character and architecture. The rooms are on the first floor. They have floors in Tuscan cotto and ceilings have open beams and entresols in cotto in the tuscan country fashion. |
 The ground floor is taken up by a small restaurant, personally run by the housekeeper where you may have the opportunity to taste the most typical dishes of the tuscan cooking tradition, such as the "fiorentina steak" and the "ribollita" in a very friendly and familiar atmosphere. In summer dinner is served on a terrace ("aia") that has a superbe and magnificent view over the tuscan "rolling hills" and from where you may admire unique and amazing sunsets. |
