Cetona, south-west towards Mt. Amiata or west towards the "Crete" and the city of Siena.There are numerous places to visit within easy driving distance. Asciano is close by, and has monuments and buildings, including the Etruscan and Sacred Art Museum, while Rapolano and its travertine quarries are well worth seeing. There is also a Romanesque parish church - Santo Stefano - located at Castelmuzio, and in the monastery of S. Anna in Camprena there are fabolous frescoes by Sodoma. More well-know locations, such as the abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore, or the towns of Pienza and Montepulciano are all nearby. The list of possible destinations is endless. |
