A visit to the six buildings comprising the complex offers one the rare occasion of taking a few steps through the most fascinating moments of a historical period which lasted at least a thousand years, but probably more than two thousand five hundred years. The property is made of three different complexes: - Canonica di Cortine - Apartments - Torre Vecchia B&B - Independent Villa Castrum |
The residences "Alba", "Meriggio" and "Tramonto" are in fact situated in an elegant building which was amply referred to in the Lorenese Land Register of 1771 which is conserved to this day at the State Archive Office in Florence. |
The shape of the residence named "Vespro" reveals its own two past lives: firstly an extraordinary Romanesque church already in existence in the XIII century which was probably seen by Cimabue or by Giotto; secondly a humble, but very elegantly formed barn. The building named "Solatio" was also originally a barn. Now it houses a luminous apartment. |
