There was no-one to greet us on arrival because we arrived after midnight, so no complaints there. The apartment was very clean and tidy and we felt that it was good value for money. The owner saw us on the following morning and made sure we were well settled in.

The pool had been extended so was not available until the last two days (4th and 5th May) of the stay. However it does state that the pool is not open until 6th May, so it was completed ahead of schedule.
The site states there is tennis available, but this is actually table tennis. That was not a problem as the thought of running around a tennis court in the heat was not appealing. A relaxing game of table tennis was much more our style. :-)

The charges table is confusing. There seems to be two sets of charges, but the distinction between them is indistinct.

A lovely place to stay. A clean and easily maintained apartment, a great place to base yourself to see many of the sights of Tuscany. Secluded without being isolated. Good on-site facilities. Great for all the family.

The apartment was extremely spacious but we
found it to be dirty. The toilet smelt very
unpleasant, even after we had cleaned it! We
could only assume there was something wrong
with the drains. The oven was also very
dirty, as was the area and units around the
extractor fan – being caked with grease and
fluff. We had to wash crockery and utensils
before using them. Although the linen on the
bed was fresh and clean, the additional
supplied pillows and blankets smelt
extremely musty. There were various stains
on the upholstery of the chairs and the knob
on the wardrobe door kept falling off. We
didn't complain to the owners at the time as
our Italian is non-existent and their
English was not that great. However, the
communal areas outside and the swimming pool
were very clean and extremely pleasant.
Overall, we felt that Podere Canale was a
very nice place, but let down by the poor
attention to cleaning in our apartment.
