 Composed of approximately 300 acres in woods and pastureland, the estate includes the family's private villa, numerous farmhouses and select acreage of vineyards and olive groves. With its grapes, the Capponis produce their acclaimed Chianti Classico, D.O.C.G., as well as a reserve vintage and an I.G.T. wine of Merlot, called Casarsa. These three wines are offered to visitors who stop by for tastings and are available for sale at a "direct-from-the-cellar" price. Additionally, the family offers its highly praised vin santo, a Tuscan dessert wine, a grappa distilled from its Chianti grapes, a white table wine, a young red wine, as well as its flavorful olive oil and red-wine vinegar. |
