Our Cellar Visit and tasting:
That "wine revolution" that in the last years has concerned the Chianti classic and the Tuscan wine culture had to involve an historic name such as the Bossi castle. The exploitation to the utmost the incredible potential offered by the firm, and the introduction of the technological innovations in the full respect of the Chianti territory, were the tasks to be carried out to achieve the maximum levels in the world oenology.

The project has been carried out for decades; the Bacci family was able to surround itself with right people to decide that their only important aim was the high quality. Entrusted the talented oenologist Alberto Antonini with technical management, a precious job has been carried out both in vineyard, with new reimplantations, and in cellar, introducing the use of the little barrels and of modern technologies of vinification. Today the Bossi castle "jewels" are rich wines, with a great mining weight, in which the regional and vine characteristics express themselves artistically.

Bossi Castle is situated in Castelnuovo Berardenga, on the road from Chiantigiana vecchia, where it divides at Pianella to go towards Brolio, in the middle of evergreen woods and long rows of vines. As a result of the peculiarity of the place, rich with century-old trees, fossil fields and of different kinds of self-sown vegetation, it has interested many scientists over the years who have analysed the various peculiarities. .

The name Bossi seems to derive from Roman army military treasure that was taken to the encampments to pay the forces. It was called in in this way because it was probably built with a precious and rare wood called 'Bosso'. From some inscriptions found on an ancient wall of the rectory of San Marcellino, dated back to the first or second century A.D, it seems that in this area there there was a Roman settlement.
